Identifying oneself as a woman and accepting female roles occurs gradually and begins in childhood. Femininity and female sexuality are only a small part of the overall picture of female identity. Imagine this picture - a girl is walking along the path of life and looks around. Around her she sees people, their relationships with each other, their relationships with her, and a variety of female roles open up to her perception. With every step she takes, she learns that a woman manifests herself in life in different ways. One girl may see her always tired mother and write into her subconscious that the female role is difficult and exhausting. Another girl may have a mother with a predominance of masculine qualities and she may give the girl messages about the weakness and unreliability of men (parental instructions). What she sees will be recorded in her memory as the basis for her self-determination and attitude towards the world around her. When a girl grows up and becomes a sexually mature person, her female identity will be collected from all the formed ideas, habits, sensations, and will constitute her “image of myself” in terms of the female component of the personality. Based on the formed female identity, a woman decides, for example: 1. Always rely on yourself, neglect the help of a man.2. Tolerate someone you don’t like next to you.3. Suppress anger and other negative emotions (in reality there are no negative or positive emotions, this is only the assessment of the person himself), in order to preserve relationships, family, marriage.4. Choose dependence, sacrifice.5. Take on the role of a strong woman, the breadwinner of a family where a woman is “both the Swede and the reaper.”6. Do not believe in the existence of love in relationships between a man and a woman.7. Compete with men to prove your superiority.8. Constantly be dissatisfied with men to maintain your self-esteem.9. Perceive tenderness and affection as vulnerability and insecurity.10. Be in an eternal pursuit of achieving the ideal female image.11. Suppress your lightness and spontaneity due to another value-dominant attitude “I am a mother”, “I am a boss”, “I am a public figure”. Healing the trauma of female identity lies in a systematic, comprehensive approach to restoring contact with the body, better understanding yourself, your environment, understanding roles, analyzing experiences, forming an ecological and integral “image of me”.
