Due to the fact that in many countries (including ours) the “cult of youth” still reigns, the topic of age is painful, and the problems of older people seem to “evaporate” from the general information field. The unpleasant symptoms that people experience during menopause (which men, by the way, can experience as hard as women!) can be really very serious, worsen the quality of life, and affect the emotional state. Those who are going through this difficult period are forced to hide their situation, work under the same conditions, and talk about menopause in a whisper in a private conversation with those who are experiencing the same difficulties. Therefore, it is important to raise this topic, develop it, and eliminate gaps in knowledge - after all, everyone will grow old. Menopause is a period of decline of reproductive function in a person’s life. It is tied to hormonal changes, and as everyone knows, hormones can do whatever they want to a person’s body and psyche. Due to the characteristics of the female hormonal and reproductive systems, the fair half of humanity is experiencing this period with more pronounced symptoms. Women's health during menopause lets you know about everything: about pregnancy and childbirth, about “carrying” children and heavy strollers, sleepless nights, not drinking vitamin complexes. Men experience menopause not as difficult physiologically as psychologically. What problems do people face during this difficult time (let's consider those that are closer to psychology): Concerns about the aging of the body: during menopause, part of the muscle tissue is naturally replaced with fatty tissue, therefore it increases weight. Plus, skin turgor decreases, and because of this, cellulite and wrinkles appear. Such changes are very difficult to accept, it takes time. Due to hormonal surges/emissions (hot flashes), your health deteriorates greatly. Naturally, in this situation, the way of life changes: the lifestyle must become more calm, in order to avoid stressful situations, you have to give up meetings with friends, entertainment, long journeys, intense sports, etc. Mood swings appear, and this also normal, as during pregnancy, for example. It happens to everyone: both men and women. The sooner a person admits that “the same as before” will no longer be the case, the sooner an adequate treatment can be selected to eliminate this symptom (sedatives, most often). Insomnia may occur. Lack of quality sleep greatly affects even the youngest and healthiest, let alone middle-aged and elderly people. Due to all of the above factors, the risk of depression and anxiety disorders increases. Close people (especially the younger generation) should be attentive to those who enters its new frontier. During menopause, support, participation and care are more important than ever.
