We haven’t talked about burnout for a long time, and for the second year now I’ve been living on a schedule of 10 days of vacation every two months. This is an insanely fun schedule in which I don’t have to work hard on weekdays. I have a lot of hobbies and a lot of lying on the couch - my vacation has become varied. I work 4 days a week and get most of my work done. What I don’t have time to do, I calmly transfer to the next day. You know, I would like to remind you that our psyche is a tool that we need to be able to use. If we are talking about adaptation and healthy workload, in which it is possible to realize the maximum potential, strength, and energy, then the psyche needs security. I really like the phrase that from security comes movement forward. If you want to move mountains, then the most important thing you need to do for yourself is to ensure security. A comfortable workplace or financial cushion, the possibility of work boundaries and the division of work and rest. All this allows you to feel safe, to know that there are some limits/norms/boundaries that you do not cross. This allows you to consider the pressure that leads you to results! No matter how trivial it may sound, the more you rest, the better you work. Therefore, when you satisfy your needs for rest, you have the strength to implement your plans. Therefore, if suddenly something isn’t working out very well for you right now, ask yourself: how long has it been since I’ve been on vacation? If suddenly you’ve been on vacation recently, ask: was this vacation of high quality? I’m very sad to see posts on social networks about that after this vacation you need another vacation or “after this weekend I would go to work on Wednesday.” This would be funny if it weren’t so sad, because when you lie to yourself and at the moment when you just want to lie down to rest, just to binge on the series for the whole weekend, you pull yourself together and go out of town with friends to barbecue. This is wonderful, but your need was different! Therefore, it is important to hear your needs, build a work and rest schedule, establish work boundaries, create your own safety beacons (financial cushion, workplace, signing up for clients). Then yes. This is the norm for your rest and prevention of burnout. Dear experts, I remind you that the moment when “The best project, I like it very, very much, I will work on it 24/7, it’s so cool, I’m interested in everything” is the first stage of burnout. There is a poem: “I love my job, I will come here on Saturday And of course on Sunday, Here I will celebrate my birthday, New Year, March 8, I will spend the night here tomorrow! If I don’t get sick, I won’t lose my temper, I won’t go wild, Here I will meet all the sunrises, All the sunsets and greetings. The horses are dying from work, Well, I’m... an immortal pony!” This is the first stage of burnout. Remember this. And take care of yourself!
