From the author: The article was published in the electronic magazine "Super Trainers Club" Hello, super trainer! Today we will talk about what features there are in the process of training adults. A couple of thousand years ago, Confucius said: I I hear and forget. I see and remember. I do and understand. Even taking into account the characteristics of the channels of perception (auditory, visual, kinesthetic), this rule really works. In adult education, these words are transformed into the rule: When I just hear, I forget. When I hear and see, I remember a little. When I hear, see, ask questions and discuss with someone else, I begin to understand. When I hear, see, ask, discuss and do, I acquire knowledge and skills. When I when I teach someone, I reinforce what I have learned. The learning process is not the pouring of information from the teacher’s head into the students’ heads. The brain not only receives information, but also processes it. If our brain could talk, it would constantly ask: “What is this new information about? Does it confirm or contradict what I already know?” If the incoming information does not interest the brain, it switches to something else. . That's why the questions participants ask are a great indicator of an active learning process. And that’s why the personal experience of the participants is the basis of everything that happens during the training (including training). And what can a trainer do to ensure that the learning process and perception of new information takes place effectively during the training? Training will become more effective if students have the opportunity : - convey information in your own words - give examples - see connections with other facts or ideas - apply the acquired knowledge in a specific situation in practice If you just give participants material, do not expect them to be interested, actively participate, and apply the received material in the future. In such a situation, a person approaches knowledge without curiosity, without questions and without interest in the final result. Make learning active! Let the student need to get an answer to a question, find the necessary information to solve a problem or come up with a way to complete a task. And the next question is how to do all this? But for this there are various tools - exercises, groups of questions, discussion formats, games , cases and many others. Where can I get them and how can I learn to use them? You can buy and read a lot of books, scour the Internet. Or you can come on March 17-18 to the training of trainers “The Best Coaching Tools” and in 2 days of work get (study, try, get your hands on) dozens tools that will make your training interesting, effective and efficient.
