Imagine that you have a superpower - you can predict the future. What would you do first? Someone will want to find out the winner of a football match and make the right bet. Someone will want to know the weather. Some will even try to find out the day and cause of their death. And despite the fact that such a superpower does not exist, some people put their lives on the line just to have such a power. Such people think: “What if?..”What if I get fired? What if the plane falls and crashes? What if I get sick with something? What if they laugh at me? This list can be continued endlessly. The most common reason for these thoughts is an attempt to control (read - predict) your own future. And, of course, to prevent that very worst scenario. But let’s look at the price1. At the first stage of addiction to SUDDEN thoughts, a person begins to notice anxiety, preoccupation with certain issues, tension in the body2. At the second stage, problems with sleep and appetite appear. Headaches become more frequent, blood pressure rises3. At the third stage, anxiety transforms into fear, a person begins to fear something that he has never been afraid of before4. At the fourth stage, sudden panic attacks and avoidance of certain events/people/places/objects appear. As a result, you can develop chronic diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, back, cardiovascular system and others. Of course, there are quite deep reasons behind the desire to control your future in such a strict form . And they need to be worked with, they should be recognized and reconstructed. But here's where you can start: 1. Remind yourself that in your real life SUDDENLY events happened extremely rarely. That is, the probability of their occurrence is extremely low2. Try to prove to yourself that these disturbing thoughts are unfounded, look for arguments against the SUDDEN scenario3. Remind yourself that if the anxiety was justified and the event occurred, could you survive it?4. If you couldn’t survive it, then the question is: how are you reading this now?? :)
