Remember how you were late for work or other errands in a stream of other pedestrians. You are really in a hurry, and everyone around you is so sluggish and slow, for example, like this granny in front of you - as if pensioners have nothing to do at home, and they go out to disturb people! You are angry, freaking out, desperately trying to overtake and maneuver between accomplices in traffic. You experience irritation, sometimes even rage and anger towards them, because they delay you on the way to your goal! So, you are not alone in this experience, which with all its manifestations has been called “aggressive pedestrian syndrome”. It sounds alarming, but still What’s more alarming is that the “aggressive pedestrian syndrome” is increasingly spreading not only to our movement around the city, but, in principle, to our entire lives. And so you get annoyed when you wait an extra 10 seconds for the elevator, when the taxi arrives not in 2, but in 6 minutes, so you set the speed to x2 when watching a video (after all, how can you speak so slowly!!), scroll through a video longer than a minute or a post longer than a paragraph? (too long, well), you freak out when a page on the Internet loads for more than a split second... and now, in principle, any situations that require minimal patience become painful and annoying. Do you recognize yourself? It’s interesting that the most mentioned psychiatric diagnosis now seems to be ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder), which incl. manifested by difficulty in concentrating and maintaining attention, impatience, inability to concentrate. And such problems can indeed be caused by neurodifferences, disturbances in the functioning of parts of the cortex or frontal parts of the brain, peculiarities of the processes of inhibition and excitation of the nervous system, etc., but much more often the cause of the aggressive syndrome the pedestrian becomes social influence, standards and the accelerated pace of life of modern society, of which we are all members, and, as a result, a distorted sense of perception of time. I’ll tell you about this in the next article, so as not to provoke aggressive pedestrian syndrome in you due to the length of the article: ) Please respond, do you observe similar symptoms?
