Being a person far from esotericism or religiosity, but a believer and a reader of books, I want to share with you my literary finds and thoughts. The first find is “Empire of Angels”, author Bernard Verber. I recommend reading. The book is gorgeous. And not very big. And one of the main characters lives in St. Petersburg. He is an orphanage, his life is very harsh, he manages to visit many different unfriendly places, including finding himself in war. When the war ends, both meaning and adaptation to this world are lost. Throughout the entire story, we worry about this hero. But this is just one of the stories. The book contains several lines of narration. This book shows us angels as living beings who have their own tasks, hardships and frustrations. Only they are a little different than ours. They have their own clients - people. One of which is Igor. Angels have their own wars. And they follow different laws. Right now I’m reading “The Rose of the World” by Daniil Andreev. This is philosophical mysticism. The book is difficult and not for everyone. But it really conveys the spirit of the times. And in my opinion, it very much resonates with Verber. If Verber writes artistically, enticingly, immersing angels in this reality through actions and events, then Andreev has a broader view, as if from the outside. And while reading the Rose of the World, pictures and illustrations periodically pop up in my head from the Empire of Angels. In both sources, angels represent people who have fulfilled some standard on earth, received and passed lessons. Having passed the standard, a person has a choice - either to become an angel and continue his development path in a different form, or to return to earth with a mission. When a person becomes an angel, he loses his materiality. His body itself “produces” clothes. Food becomes unlimited and accessible. An angel is equally comfortable everywhere, he does not need to think about his survival. And these nuances, and other comments, make me think about the eternal. About our own, eternal)) Why do we come into this world? What lesson should we learn? How important is it to take care of the material world? Should the World take care of us? Here is a meme: it’s good to be an adult - half the time at work. The other half - you try not to cry... Psychology partially answers some questions. In some statements, modern psychologists quote Andreev. I don’t know how consciously. “The world is ready to give us everything. But higher powers will never do for you what you should do yourself.” This is not a quote, but the thought that I heard from a psychology professor and from the author of the Rose of the World. Between the lines, the same idea can be seen in the Empire of Angels. Verber's heroes want to find out what is on the next step, after the angels. Andreev almost immediately gives us the full picture, including showing what happens to sinners. And those who did not think about “spirituality”, but cared only about material things. Spoiler - they go to hell...) In the modern world, spirituality has turned into an “oven”. There are many different points of view on that other world that lies beyond ours. The position of psychology is that without going into the “oven”, do not forget about spirituality. And if you have some craving for this world, for secret knowledge and of magic. I can recommend paying attention to these books. For lovers of psychology, I’ll tell you that Empire of Angels is the second book in the series about Thanatonautes. The first book is called Thanatonautes. It is a little larger than the second and a little more fantastic. Empire of Angels tells us about the structure of the world of angels, who the angels are, where they come from, where they go. Who else is there besides angels?
