From the author: Almost every person has asked himself the question about the meaning of his own name. After all, a name is not a simple set of letters, but it is endowed with a certain meaning. “How does a name affect a person’s destiny?” Almost every person has asked himself the question about the meaning of his own name. After all, a name is not a simple set of letters, but it is endowed with a certain meaning. And each name has its own history of origin and influence on character and destiny. Speaking about the meaning of the name, we cannot ignore the important fact that in different cultures there are certain traditions of what name to name a newborn. Previously, in Rus', before naming their child, parents turned to the priest, who chose the name, according to the guardian angel born on that day. It was believed that if a person bears such a name, he will have a close connection with his angel. With the name, it was as if power was transferred to the baby. Parents were asked to be very careful when choosing a male name for a girl (Yaroslava, Valeria, Valentina, etc.). Such a name is an additional burden on the child’s fate. At the same time, they also paid special attention to the combination of first name and patronymic. First names and patronymics were not repeated, i.e. there were no Ivanov Ivanovichs or Alexandrov Alexandrovichs, for example. This was done so that the child would not subconsciously bear responsibility for his father. An exception could be cases when it was necessary to extend the strength of the family. Of course, a name always carries certain character traits to a person. Moreover, self-perception of one’s name is important for an individual. If its owner does not like it, then it fills his life with negativity and adds black streaks. If a person loves his name, then there will be more positive emotions in his life, and interpersonal communication will be easier for him. When a person has the same first and last name as a famous person, then in this case there may be general pressure on the individual. If it is imposed on a person that he must correspond to his namesake, they compare him, then a protest may arise inside him, i.e. resistance in response to pressure. And if he decides that common features with a famous individual are acceptable to him, their internal positions coincide, and he himself wants to be like his namesake, then common character traits and even actions can begin to be traced between them. The name gives a person his main mission, his purpose on earth. For example, the name Tamara means a great, graceful, strong personality who strives for leadership. And the owner of this name, without knowing it, can walk, bent over like a “hook” and with a dull look. As a result, she complains that men don’t pay attention to her. In my practice, there is a real story of a conflict between a name and its owner. The parents named the girl Victoria, but she grew up and began to protest against this name, even signing school notebooks with Elena. Because she did not have leadership skills, but wanted to be calm and good-natured. So, until I was 18, I created negativity for myself and my parents. In the end, she changed her name, which means she unconsciously fulfilled the mission of the name Victoria - the winner. Subsequently, Elena began to correspond in character and appearance to her new name - Elena the Beautiful. Thus, in order to avoid a negative attitude of a person towards his name, especially his parents, one should carefully study the history of the origin of the chosen name, know its influence on the character and destiny of a person, take into account the purpose and treat favorably when it coincides with famous people.
