Why can a feeling of guilt arise in a situation where you work a lot? When a person is overloaded with work and all his time is taken up by work, other sectors of life naturally suffer - family, friends, leisure. “I am not worthy and I must do even more, again and again, so as not to offend, and to limit others from the pain that I have already experienced myself.” And to redo everything, always and forever, is a very unrealistic story. The word “excessively” is very suitable for describing the behavioral strategies of a guilty person. Overly responsible, overly cautious, overly ignorant of one's emotions and feelings, and overly self-injurious. Is this feeling helpful or harmful? Why? What could be the consequences or side effects of constant feelings of guilt? All the feelings that a person experiences are normal. Even excessive constant joy can become harmful. What’s truly useful is to learn to get in touch with your feelings and emotions by asking yourself questions: How do I feel now? What emotion do I feel? Why do I consider myself guilty: am I scared? I'm ashamed? Or could there be something else? It is precisely ignoring one’s feelings and emotions that makes life very impoverished, makes it empty, and a person feels very dissatisfied despite numerous achievements and results. Constant feelings of guilt lead to very unpleasant consequences, ranging from professional burnout to deep depression, and possibly suicidal attempts. I offer you 5 recommendations on how to cope with feelings of guilt. How to cope with feelings of guilt? Accept the fact: ideal is never. Think about what benefit you get from your guilt? Move towards the goal gradually, noting small joys for yourself and enjoying each stage. Compare yourself not with other people, but with yourself yesterday, writing down daily gratitude to yourself. Choose one piece of advice. I think the help of a psychologist can be important in dealing with feelings of guilt. And don’t be afraid to contact a specialist, because you are not to blame for anything.
