Analysis of the activities, professional and personal qualities of a psychologist - the hero of the feature film “Without Witnesses” The first episode of the second season of the feature film “Without Witnesses” was chosen for viewing and analysis, the main character is psychologist Igor Maksimov. The psychologist is, as we later understand, at home at home and conducts a business conversation on the phone, while writing down contacts. The doorbell rings distracting him and we watch a scene where a young man blames a specialist for the death of his mother and threatens to sue. The action of the first episode then takes place in a lawyer's office. There we find out the full name of the psychologist, Igor Kirillovich and his age, 53 years old. We don't know anything about his marital status yet, but we get an idea of his professionalism - psychology department at Moscow State University, graduate school, candidate's thesis, senior lecturer and later associate professor at the department, doctorate and internship at Stanford, ERPKE. The lawyer turns out to be not the one the main character expected to see. Instead of a man, a woman is waiting for him and, as it later becomes clear, Yulia underwent therapy 19 years ago, that is, she was a client of Igor Maximov. He recognized her immediately and expressed doubts about continuing the meeting, since this was a violation of boundaries and contrary to the ethics of psychoanalysis. However, he stayed and continued the conversation, still feeling the tension and not without reason. Being restrained and attentive, although somewhat confused due to the circumstances, the psychologist tries to maintain concentration and objectivity, while showing professional qualities in response to the lawyer’s provocations. The provocations are personal in nature, Yulia returns to the past with each phrase and focuses both of their attention on the mistakes that, in her opinion, Igor made during their work together. Igor Kirillovich immediately catches the moment when the former client plays out something of his own, unsaid, painful , but still hopes for the adequacy of the situation. Without reacting to Yulia’s accusations and affective manifestations at the beginning of the meeting, Igor, by asking questions, clarifies her pain, unfinished intrapsychic processes and directly asks the question of acting out a situation from the past, thereby relieving tension and completing the incident. Yes, the psychologist breaks the rules by engaging with the client (albeit former) in relationships other than those within the cabinet. This is aggravated by the fact that in this case an objective assessment of him as a specialist is important, which is impossible in the presence of transfer and incomplete analysis. However, in accordance with the requirements of the profession, Igor Maksimov approaches the issue and the personality of the lawyer without judgment and, having worked through as much as possible, the episode that has arisen suggests ending the meeting and continuing to work with her colleague. The answer is Julia’s counter-proposal: “Now I want you to leave.” The client remains in his illusions that the psychologist is to blame and everything could have been different, Igor leaves the office, leaving the question “how?”. In my opinion, the psychologist found the strength, despite the unexpectedness of the current situation, to cope with stress regarding the charges and the chance meeting. Having stumbled at the beginning of the meeting, he regained control of the situation, clarified the psychotrauma of the former client and competently conducted the dialogue, using professional skills.
