This is how future entrepreneurs and businessmen who have spent too much time working for hire exclaim. This phrase became a humorous indicator that the speaker was having a midlife crisis. There are quite understandable reasons for this. Every person wants success and a lot of money with minimal effort (except for those who live with the attitude “money comes hard”). And then there’s the nasty boss, who is no better than anyone else, who dares to lead you. This is a normal internal process of maturation, after which a person either really leaves the workforce and begins to work “for himself”, or remains a grumpy employee (another option is to realize that working for an “uncle” is not so bad). What should be discussed? to remember before you set off on your own? Business and entrepreneurship are not for everyone, and this is completely normal and natural. Why did it suddenly become embarrassing to work for someone? From childhood we are taught that there are no bad professions. If everyone had a potential leader and manager in them, who would do the easier job? There are also a huge number of people, professionals in their field, who work for hire and earn many times more than entrepreneurs. So the point is in the person, and not in where he works. Complete freedom, “in business you are your own master” is an illusion. Any private activity is a colossal responsibility. After all, now you will, in one person, do everything that the accounting, HR, and marketing departments did. You will hire employees yourself and pay them wages, promote your business, calculate income and expenses, report to the tax authorities, seek cooperation and much more. Before things start working for you and you become free, you will have to work hard and go through a difficult path. Based on the previous point, even freelancing is not suitable for everyone. For people without basic self-organization skills, it is better to first train and then go into outer space. Business is always a risk. Even if you have calculated and studied everything a thousand times, force majeure circumstances can still occur. When embarking on this path, prepare for the fact that you will now be scared all the time and you will be tormented by constant doubts. This is the main difference between successful people - they are also scared, just like everyone else, but they do it anyway. They know how to quickly work with doubts, think critically and assess the situation. To start, you need initial capital and a financial safety net in case of failure (yes, this almost always happens at the beginning of a journey). This is pure mathematics, we just sit down and count. Despite all the disadvantages and difficulties, starting your own business is always an incredible and dizzying personal growth. Thanks to this, a person gains invaluable life experience. Even if the business fails, you will never again be afraid to act and make mistakes. What other points would you add to the list above? Which job is preferable for you - individual or hired?
