The previous article already raised the problem of the formation of psychological safety and its significance for a person. Let us recall that psychological safety is a necessary condition for the full development of a person and the preservation of his psychological health. But in the conditions of constantly emerging changes in which we now live, a person naturally leaves his usual comfort zone: his life changes and he feels excitement and anxiety. So how to deal with anxiety and forced isolation? The specialist shared effective proven techniques. You need to accept the fact that life during a period of change is different from ordinary life. It seems the world has changed forever, and the coronavirus is far from the only deadly threat we face. Therefore, we are learning to switch to a different mode, to live as fully as possible in new conditions. To regain a sense of control during a period of anxiety and fears for oneself and loved ones, when panic arises, a person does not need to be dissuaded from action, since he will still do something. On the contrary, it is necessary to give him clear instructions on how to deal with an objective threat and how to deal with fear. If we are talking about purchasing food for future use, do it, but first, find out your own “saving list”. This will help avoid fuss, unnecessary costs and reproaches for inaction in the face of danger. The honesty and objectivity of information about the threat, its factual content, and not evaluative content, is critical. Check yourself, to what extent do you understand what exactly the threat is, what exactly is the danger of the situation? Try to explain this, for example, in case of illness, to a doctor or nurse. If you do not want to go to the military registration and enlistment office on a subpoena and cannot clearly explain to yourself why, consult a lawyer. And finally, give yourself time to figure it out. Self-isolation in case of quarantine or partial mobilization entails psychological stress, growth and accumulation of psycho-emotional stress. If you find it difficult to cope with such experiences, seek help from psychologists and remember that even if you do not have the opportunity to see a specialist, there are free psychological consultations on hotlines. Brief recommendations for coping with panic1. Daily Routine Create daily rituals: simple, repeating actions that structure your day. Exercising, eating, washing hands on a schedule, reading books at a certain time, etc. are great options. Follow them, and if you succeed, don’t forget to reward yourself with something pleasant: watching a movie, a pleasant meeting, talking with friends, etc.2. Flexible planning Stick to your usual daily routine, try changing something a little, for example, increasing physical activity while exercising. Create goals for yourself and go towards them gradually, guided by the principle that “an elephant cannot be eaten at once, it can only be eaten in pieces.”3. Prevention measures Make a list of your personal measures against the threat of seasonal viral diseases: hand washing, room ventilation, surface disinfection. If you are among those eligible for mobilization, limit unnecessary visits to crowded places, and when moving around the city, use information about places where mass document checks are carried out and summonses are issued. Check the boxes to see what you did. This will return a sense of control over your life and objective influence on the situation within your area of responsibility: you do what you can and what you should do.4. Healthy eating Watch what you eat and how much! It is very important to follow a daily routine, and for convenience, hang a meal schedule on the refrigerator. If necessary, take vitamins.5. Information hygiene Avoidance of information materials that incite panic, emotionally overloaded materials. Recommendations for coping with negative experiences due to social isolation1.
