With the advent of the Internet, the amount of criticism directed at us has increased exponentially. The global network guarantees almost complete anonymity and impunity for those who like to criticize, which they actively use. At its core, criticism can be divided into two types: 1. Constructive – i.e. criticism on the matter, expression of opinion with the aim of helping. In general, there is nothing bad about it. Moreover, it is useful, because... helps us look at our mistakes, correct them and, if possible, not repeat them. Constructive criticism does not mean that everything is bad, it talks about how to do better.2. Destructive - criticism that is directed against your personality. Naturally, there is nothing useful in it and most often it simply reflects the subjective perception of the world of another individual. Most often, under the guise of good intentions (“I want it best for you!”) they slip us destructive criticism. One of the favorite arguments in this case is “You must be able to accept criticism!” But should we really accept it? And here are the figurines! Of course, there is a percentage of people who are able to process even destructive criticism and turn it into constructive. But if you are not one of them, if after such criticism your hands give up, tears come, and self-confidence quickly disappears from your body, then do not suffer. You have every right to set boundaries and tell the critic that you are not going to listen to nasty things addressed to you. It is important to remember that destructive criticism is not at all aimed at making you better. It is aimed at making the critic better, to satisfy his ego, needs, complexes, etc. In a word, so that he receives some benefit for himself. Here are some tips that will help in this difficult matter: 1. Determine what type of criticism you are facing. A trivial point in general, but it is obvious that before you react, you need to understand what you are dealing with.2. Use constructive criticism to help. You shouldn’t take it with hostility. Try to calmly analyze and draw conclusions that will help you become better.3. Don't lose faith in yourself. Separate the emotional and semantic content of criticism. Any criticism can be emotional to a certain extent.
