Hello. This topic came to mind after I saw the question on the local forum: “how to force yourself to do something during quarantine?” This question and my question are very relevant in the current world, when there is plenty of free time, but it is not clear what to do with it. So, few people know that you also need to be able to rest and relax, sometimes it’s even more difficult than starting new things. And the problem is that a person does not always realize whether he is resting or not. Very often the question: “how to force yourself to do something” is interconnected with the question “how to force yourself to rest.” For many people, vacation is an “unaffordable luxury” that must be earned only by working harder, of course, it sounds paradoxical. First you need to understand what rest is. Rest is a state of complete immersion in one’s inner desires, without any psychological or physical stress, in other words, rest is indulging one’s needs. Although the concept is somewhat unclear, I will try to explain my point of view with an example. Many, having learned about quarantine and the fact that there was no work in sight in the near future, decided to organize all their household and personal affairs. Some decided to read a lot, some to play sports, others to draw, write poetry, finish a book, and generally take care of themselves. But many still cannot start or quickly stop this activity. Why is this happening? Because before starting a new activity, you should take a break from the previous one. The distorted concept of rest prevents many people from realizing that they have not actually rested yet. For many, the concept of rest is simply physical relaxation, sleep and the like. In a sense, this is true. However, we should not forget about emotional rest, because it is no less important for us, and even more so than physical rest. If people have the same thoughts as in the example, then the following chain occurs :A person FORCES himself to do something ===> the person does not do it ===> the person begins to be gnawing at the thought that he again spent the day uselessly. Several days pass and the condition worsens. Fatigue does not go away, but the person is already sure that he will have enough “rest”. But again nothing works. To want to answer all this. Lying down all day doesn't mean you're rested, especially if you're emotionally suffocating yourself. In most cases, real rest helps motivate oneself to activity, because energy begins to accumulate in the body, which is produced during rest and the human factor is triggered - the need for development. I would like to highlight several principles of relaxation: 1. Rest can be physical and emotional;2. A person is not considered rested if one of the areas (physical or emotional) is tense;3. The person himself controls his rest; 4. In order to relax, you should listen to your desires. I think few people can argue that before starting a new difficult activity, you should take a break from the old one. Even when changing simple tasks, it’s worth moving away a little from the old one in order to start a new one. A small conclusion: you shouldn’t break yourself and force yourself to do something right away; laziness and rest should not be confused; give yourself the opportunity to rest; everyone knows how to relax physically, but not everyone knows how to relax emotionally. Also, at the very end, it should be noted that emotional stress affects both the emotional and physical sphere. Therefore, I would like to give some recommendations for better emotional rest: - Let go of stress. At least for some time, be it a day or half a day, you should turn off or minimize your worries about the future, present, past. The following recommendation will help you with this: - Listen and accept your desires. Whether it's just lying on the bed, when you take something that you want to lie around, or eat something high-calorie, or paint something, or dance, or do something that you refuse because.
