Vladislav LebedkoHades and Kronos in Archetypal Work In this work I will turn to the consideration of such categories of human life as death, time, limitations and transformation, from the point of view of the experience of archetypal work. Specifically, work with the archetypes of Hades and Kronos. I will rely on the concept of “Mythological Consciousness” [1] that I developed. Carl Gustav Jung introduced the concept of “psychic space” [2], which saved us from the need to guess whether there are personified inhabitants of the collective unconscious (archetypes, gods of various pantheons, daimons , geniuses, muses, spirits, etc.) “in heaven or underground.” Either this is a personification of noospheric phenomena, or everything happens in the souls of people and is transmitted through genetic connections, a holographic information field, etc. and so on. One thing is certain - all these phenomena, both personified in the form of gods and archetypes, exist in “psychic space”. Everything else is a matter of individual faith and does not play a special role for practical application. Our task, therefore, comes down to finding technologies for competent and environmentally friendly feedback that would allow us to “negotiate” and “consult” with the gods, to channel their power into certain channels etc., which could influence a more conscious and creative course of political and economic phenomena, as well as in our ability to generate certain scientific, social and cultural technologies. This problem was solved by me in 2000, when after many years of meditation, etc. practice, siddha appeared - the opportunity to “thicken” archetypes in the participants of the method of short-term group psychotherapy, individuation and cultural studies I created - Magic Theater [3], and then simply in a person who needed certain experiences, information from an archetypal source (spirit, deity , phenomena). The archetype is experienced as a powerful energy flow, causing distinct changes in the psychophysical state (bodily functions and sensations, emotions, insights and insights, hitherto unknown information, etc.) Over the course of several years, this extraordinary ability was transferred to several more people. Let's put it this way: we managed to find (in fact, remember) a level of language where, in a very compressed form, each word contains a huge set of meanings, experiences and sensations, prayed and thought by millions of people around the axes - the archetypes of the collective consciousness and the unconscious. Archetypes did not arise out of nowhere. They are some kind of “resonant spaces” in the single energy field of the Universe. And when we pronounce these words in a certain way, being in a certain state, a huge number of meanings and sensations unfold, accessible to experience. The archetype unfolds in us as a set of universal human experience at a “resonant frequency.” This experience can, using a special procedure, be transferred to the “operator” and, then, conduct a conversation with him, where he responds on behalf of the archetype. It is only necessary that the “operator” be sensitive enough. In addition to using “archetype therapy” at Magic Theaters, in group, seminar and individual work aimed at healing tasks, self-knowledge and individuation, I, together with E. Naidenov and M. Mikhailov, wrote a book [4] in which we talked with some archetypes and gods and received a lot of interesting and useful information. However, the world is changing all the time, historical eras are being transformed, previously dominant ideologies are being overthrown by more “progressive” ones, the structures of power and relationships in society are changing, moral standards are shaking. Recently, due to multiple complex processes in humanity, “this” and “this” light are mixed up, the ancient boundaries of the worlds have become thin, the forces of our world flow “there”, respectively, and flow into our world “from there”. This happens largely due to the thoughtless mental activity of people, passing under the influence of various kinds of distorted ideologies that have lost touch with the level of prototypes, overgrown with dogmas of power and unbridled and sometimes skillfully incited passions in modern consumer society. Occurs due to the loss of the essence of culture, due to too far a distance between the signifier and the signified, resulting from the intricate relationships of science, religion, man and nature. People are primarily goal-oriented and see themselves as winners of everything. As a result, the collective Shadow puts pressure on us, demanding the realization of human desires and reluctances repressed into it. And now in reality - wars, revolutions, diseases, economic crises. As a result, the worlds of people, upper and lower gods mixed too closely. And even in violation of the laws of harmony and balance. Simply simply because of the strong explicit and hidden desires of people, led into illusory expectations by the ideology and philosophy of consumer society. “Those” forces in excess are harmful to us, and ours “there”, in exchange, also prevent them from building their lives. For certain reasons, we maintain communication with the archetypes of the upper and lower gods and, in principle, with any archetype. The matter is not so difficult if you have the inclination and after a little training. Recently, a group of my students and I have noticed that contacts with the so-called “lower” gods have become more meaningful and rich. Usually mysterious and secretive, gods such as Hades, Kronos, Chernobog, Persephone, Kali, Set and others have become “more willing” to share information. They themselves “explained” their behavior by the urgent need for at least an exchange of forces with people. In changing and terminating existing “contracts” (which the vast majority of people “concluded” with them from infancy, seeking protection from any physical or mental pain), in order to unravel the numerous tangles that have created and make life easier, bringing it closer to the original one. They actively cooperate, and communication with them proceeds in a specific way, noticeably different from the generally accepted idea of the essence of the “lower” gods. It passes easier and more freely, the lower gods themselves create such conditions, because cooperation is beneficial and necessary for them. They form the communication space in such a way that difficulties and inconveniences are minimal. At first we were surprised and wary of this development, until we systematically figured out the reasons. The “lower” gods have not ceased to be powerful and harsh, they just now communicate with us this way, trying to show us their bright and useful sides. 2. Jung’s student and reformer, creator of Archetypal Psychology, James Hillman writes: “Myths rule our lives. They guide the history of the disease gradually, through the history of the soul. The irrationality, absurdity and horror of the experiments of nature among which we try to live are absorbed into the images and motifs of myth and somehow become explainable. Some people have to live their whole lives wrong and then leave it wrong. How else can we explain crime, perversion or evil? The fascinating tension of such life and death reveals the work of certain forces beyond the human. Myth, which ensures the full presence of any kind of villainy, offers a more objective approach to the study of such life and death than any study of personal motivation.[5] "The unconscious turns out to be inexhaustible. We, like swimmers, can glide along the waves of the ocean, and something new always rises from the depths to its surface. In life, as in the psyche: we are constantly faced with the need to adapt to new circumstances. By refusing mortal experiences, we reject the most significant question of life, as a result of which we leave life in an unfinished form. In this case, organic death prevents us from confronting fundamental questions and deprives us of the chance for redemption. To avoid this state of soul, traditionally called damnation, we must come to death before it comes to us. Here it is appropriate to turn to the god-ruler of the kingdomdead - Hades and expand the context of ideas about him: Let's say Zeus acts like an emperor, Hades like a cardinal, and a gray cardinal, gradually. Zeus's voice is loud, direct and precise. Hades follows circuitous paths through the call of instincts. They would be direct if people could feel and experience their instincts. That is why, by the way, it is now necessary to give people parts of the soul (given by people themselves unconsciously in “exchange” for pain-relieving mechanisms of neurotic defense) - there is no connection with instincts, which means that in a little more people, figuratively speaking, will simply “fly out” of the body . In exchange for the fact that people will return the strength borrowed from Hades, he returns earthiness, because, usually, in painful situations, they give him precisely those parts of the soul that are associated with the experience of physicality, with the sensation of the body. And without a sense of the body, a person is incomplete. As shocking as it may sound to some spiritual seekers, a person is first of all a body, they will not find any spirit until they experience themselves through the body, some have to be returned to the body through pain and illness. Many strive for the spirit, and willingly “give up” the physical, the human, first of all, so as not to experience pain. “Oh, it hurts, oh Hades, help!” - this naturally sounds different because it happens unconsciously, often in the womb, in infancy, and sometimes in adulthood. It happens that a person thinks that he is turning to God or some god, or is simply internally crying out for help, but the appeal ends up in Hades because he is experiencing pain. “Anesthetize me!” - Okay, I’ve reached out – get some painkillers – you’re partially no longer in the body. It will be easier for you, you will become neurotic. Neurotics have much fewer problems than a healthy person; he hides from life within the four walls of his neurosis. Over many millennia, a certain limit in these processes has approached, so the “lower” gods are ready to make contact and accept debts. This entire complex system of “training” a person by the gods is built on techniques that the most advanced Zen gurus never dreamed of, who build paradoxical moves. Here we can observe much more refined mechanisms, technologies and provocations and returns. If you join this game, you will play to the fullest. I repeat, now there is an opportunity to win back. Hades’ strategy: he intimidates, provokes, brings a person to the brink of life and death - a person values life more when he approaches this brink. Some who sold part of their soul to him or another god cannot value life at the same time, well... The game is not played according to human rules in a sense, it is difficult for a person to grasp these rules, and if he succeeds, then he understands that there is no illusions of humanism and security. Everything happens in real mode: wars, cataclysms, all this is given to a person to experience, all this is experience, the most valuable experience of pain, deprivation, loss, fear of death, death itself, in the end. One of the gods behaves like a psychotherapist, consoles, warns, encourages. Often people who engage in “channeling” find themselves at a level of consciousness where everything sparkles and shines: “Dear humanity, everything will be fine, we love you.” We love, of course, but with a special love, real divine love, which involves inflicting pain, suffering, death, and everything else. It is important for them that a person goes through the school of the gods and frees himself from them, and they free themselves from him. People created them, and now they are playing with people, or rather, there is a mutual dialectic here, seemingly unconscious on the part of people... And so, playing in this way, the gods teach us how to free ourselves. A tricky process is evolution. Hades teaches through fear, anxiety, hopelessness, depression, despair. Zeus through the rapture of success, luck. But from a divine point of view, all these feelings are no better or worse than one another, they all give experience, all of them need to be passed through and reached another level of humanity. Some people understand these lessons, others don’t; humanity has put up too many barriers in the form of mental constructs, dogmas, etc., and has forgotten how to perceive directlanguage of the gods. Because even dreams have become incomprehensible to people, the signals of intuition are not heard at all, and intuition is our voice. The feeling of depression has become a reason for despondency and suicide, although it is intended for something completely different. Fear is perceived as an excuse for running away from oneself, withdrawing into oneself, isolating oneself, or at best visiting a psychotherapist, but it must be lived and felt as an instinct. All kinds of dogmas and teachings, religious and scientific, political, theological, tore man away from the language of the gods, and it no longer became understandable. The lessons of the gods began to be perceived exclusively through the head, in the worst sense of the word - through dogmas, beliefs, learned book religious sermons, information that was not digested, not experienced as experience. The path to the gods is at the same time a path to instincts, and not somewhere to some unknown spirit. The spirit is also an instinct, it is inseparable from the body or the human form. At the ultimate stage, yes, this is a transition to another level of the human, when a person lives through his body and emotions, and instincts, and personality, and then comes to awareness of himself in completely different boundaries of the collective world, only then is the possibility of the spirit opened to him, before that spirit is an empty abstraction. The spirit is diffused in everything, in the gods, in the soul, in the body. This division of spirit - soul - body is so arbitrary, so essentially wrong, because they are so intertwined that it is in principle impossible to isolate one thing. They have no boundaries, they are all one conglomerate. For example, a person wants to avoid some kind of pain and gives a part of his soul to Hades, it “enters him for training” in some way, i.e. he takes her around the circles of his kingdom, shows her all this, gives her the opportunity to touch. But at this time, a person not only lacks a soul, but also some part of his body is “wooden”, some group of muscles is compressed like a lump or the smooth muscles of some organ. Those. he gave both soul and body at the same time. Moreover, since the matters are deep, connected with Hades, with Pluto - his slightly more socialized face, with his Slavic hypostases - Koshchei, Viy - their influence occurs on very deep human structures, which cannot be reached by simple means, even massage. Some areas of smooth muscle that cannot be reached are chronically tense, and even if, say, a person works with himself and can find a deep massage master who can reach these clamps, then the maximum that he can do is to relax this tension for a day or two, maybe for a month - with several sessions. But you won’t go to the massage therapist all the time, because the reason is not in the body, but in the fact that the soul (part of the soul) “is” with Hades. This is if a person has an unconscious “contract”, for example, with Hermes or Athena or someone else, then here you can remove its consequences with body-oriented work - deep massage, yoga, qigong and other types of bodily practices, and if the “contract” with Hades, or even worse, with Chernobog, then here physical work will not be limited. But, I repeat, now is the time when the “lower” gods are ready to release tension both from the bones and from the deep muscles, if a person sincerely and, most importantly, turns to the right place. This is possible because the body, soul and spirit are inseparable. And the whole point is whether a person is ready, whether he agrees to make the decision to live not in a world built on illusions of security, but to accept into his life both the pain and horror of dying (Heidegger[6] called this the Horror of Nothingness, which a person experiences when to the depths of his soul he realizes that he is living towards death: from being-towards-death the real path to his real self begins, and goes through horror and pain, alas). 3. There is a lot of information that most You don't need to know people yet. For the most part, people are simply not ready for the huge amount of information that is embedded in the archetypes of the collective unconscious. For some, a psychotherapeutic dose of this information is revealed, for others, a deeper dose of existential information is revealed, for each as he or she is ready. How to reachcontact? - The recipe is simple: live your feelings, experience pain, horror, ecstasy, love, anger... don’t give up on it, don’t run away and contact will come to the extent to which you are open. Not necessarily, through words - maybe through feelings, intuition, dreams, sensations... Again, such qualities as greed, stinginess, vindictiveness, desire for destruction - you don’t need to repress them and pretend that you are “good” boy or girl." Greedy - at least admit it to yourself, don’t drive away this awareness, live it, enjoy it - you needed it once, so don’t deceive yourself, perhaps if you live and realize it, you can let go - this will be a dialogue with Hades. Open up to yourself, admit it, don’t hide in disguises, almost every person has all this, so there will be contact, dialogue, this form of it, because dialogue does not only require rational understanding and words, this is the least effective form of contact. For many centuries, especially in Western civilization, humanity has divided feelings into good and bad and, accordingly, runs away from the “bad” ones, even to the point of repressing them into the unconscious. This is how people fall into their own traps. This is similar to the situation that you once decided not to poop in order to be clean, you didn’t poop for a day or two, then you started pooping, but you assured everyone at every intersection that you didn’t poop. And you’ve been saying this for two or three thousand years. Now, let’s say, I realized that there was nowhere else to go and I had to confess, but it’s already awkward - for so many centuries, foaming at the mouth, I claimed that I was clean. You need to get over this awkwardness; there is no other recipe. This way you can lose your reputation as “good and correct”, but become closer to Life. Tricks of the mind - all these “correctness” and “goodness”. Yes, once upon a time the gods created the prerequisites for the division into “good” and “bad”, but all learning is targeted and historical, now are different times, humanity has already bumped its face into the mud, it’s time to return to life, to living instincts. By the way, one can say that the gods are precisely instincts! God, nature, that's one thing. To say that God “does not poop” (metaphorically), that he is white and fluffy, that he has nothing to do with physicality is stupid. Error... The Greeks were closer to the gods, they honored physicality, understood that body-soul-spirit is one and it is impossible to separate them, except perhaps for convenience, like a coordinate system. God is the instinct of Life, if we talk about the One... Primary instinct. It has everything, day and night, inspiration and dullness, birth and death. Gods are not somewhere far from the body, from matter, they reflect desires, instincts, needs, values, motivations, emotions, feelings, sensations. It is not something ephemeral, separate from the body. And there is no division into the base and the sublime, etc. All these categories arise as a consequence of a social order, but for some reason it was needed, it was allowed, society would not have existed without it, and without society a person could not evolve. There is a very complex dialectic here... Society limits, presses, oppresses, it is impossible to live without it... So: God is an instinct. Kronos and Hades make up a complex instinct - the instinct of death. And not just physical death, but precisely that mortal experience that the soul so needs and which James Hillman speaks about, for example, in his brilliant book “Suicide and the Soul” [7]. 4. Hades is one of the primordial universal forces that exists as a thirst to absorb something, to contain something. This is a very strong thirst! Hades longs to possess something, longs to attract it, store it and contain it. In Hades, among other things, there are prototypes of ideas, there is a dump of all sorts of necessary and unnecessary things. He is responsible for looking inward and looking from within. Anyone who looks inside already finds himself in his space. The one who is inside, whether inside himself or inside something, does not matter - he is in Hades, in his state, in the inner. What Hades absorbed into himself, he almost never returns. You can only get out of it by being transformed. Hades is the god of deep transformations. Including through the experience of self-deepening, looking inside, howmeditative and introspective. This is what happens in the mouth of Hades: it strips away the charge, the tension that something had the moment it came into contact with it. He puts everything into parts; what can decay decays, but the incorruptible remains. Hades doesn't contribute anything, he just takes away all the power. Therefore, what is created perfectly remains. Confrontations, contradictions, tensions, charges - Hades takes this for himself. It is his. If you are tense, straining, trying to do something, then you are in his power, in his snare. But these snares should definitely not be feared. Yes, they can lead to the death of the body, or they can lead to the transformation of the soul. And in what direction? The kingdom of Hades is the kingdom of substance, matter. First of all, it is material, material to the very last degree of materiality. Materiality is one of its hypostases, which includes the human body with all its parts, visible and tangible, and all kinds of fossils, and in general the whole earth - dry land. The kingdom of the dead is the shadow of Hades, the opposite of materiality. It is he who possesses the extreme degree of materiality, and that is why the coming and going is carried out through him. Through him people come to earth, through his gates. Through its space, through its power, conception occurs. In contact of soul and spirit with matter. This is under his control. Of course, not only in his, everyone is present there, but Hades plays the first violin there. This must be known, understood and respected. Hades is both in the human soul and in the manifestation of planetary forces, first of all, gravity. In a sense, these agonies that sweep across the planet periodically, they, of course, reach us. Various natural disasters, tsunamis, are also Hades and Poseidon. Then earthquakes, eruptions, even various epidemics, these are also all his. Because he is compressed - furious, and if this compression is exceeded too much, then a flow from the compressed state to another level occurs, and part of his power comes out into this world from the world of shadows. When a certain concentration of human passions regarding something is exceeded, it breaks through and the worlds get mixed up. Neither this world nor this one is good from this and no one needs it, it’s just a consequence of illiterate, inadequate actions. Therefore, Hades and the other gods are and always have been interested in channels of communication. What are these channels: these are meditations on death. Meditation in every sense of the word. Evil for Hades, no matter how strange it may seem, is blindness, rejection, ignorance, which is what most people are in now. People are afraid of Hades, he scares them because of the fear of death, the fear of even thinking about her, but by thinking about death and meditation you can transform this fear - with the help of Hades. The lower world - the kingdom of Hades and other lower gods - is the basis. How could we walk if we didn't have bones, for example? Move, talk? No way. Hades provides support - a root. If you listen to his voice, he seems to say: “Stay on me, feed from me, live.” To the wise (as the ancient Chinese called a person contemplating death), Hades gives peace and constancy. Only in a certain constancy, in a certain peace, can some phenomena occur that simply cannot even arise in another atmosphere. In the human body itself, in addition to its very materiality, there is a zone where Hades is represented by its most powerful projection. This is the anal area. In man, anal fixation, which Freud first explored, is a fixation on that period of infant life when he holds in his feces, receiving anal pleasure, i.e. in some sense, he used the power of Hades - running away from pain or striving for pleasure, thereby “concluding” an unconscious “contract” with Hades - and as a result getting neurosis. And the cause of neurosis associated with the power of Hades is withholding, not allowing, again well, excessive. Or vice versa, what in psychoanalysis is called anal aggression and which manifests itself in incontinence... And the principle is the same - do not worry, do not feel, do not touch. And the strengthAida is a contact to the very marrow of the bones. Why do many people not like to be “in the body”? Hades is bodily existence. And instead of experiencing the pain in due time, letting it happen, we ran away from it, created defense mechanisms, selling parts of the soul to different gods, as a result, a muscular shell in the body. Feeling it again is extremely unpleasant. So we are running from Hades, but it should be the other way around... As a result, religious doctrines appeared that the flesh is sinful. So is the mechanism of fear of materiality, of Hades, rejection of corporeality... All the same, in the life of every person there will come a moment when he will come into contact with Hades “in full.” Those who escape from the body with other meditations, not aimed at the body, but from it, will go nowhere - no one, at the moment of death. The soul leaves the body, at this moment Hades is present in its specific form. It is this hypostasis that people are afraid of, because it is truly terrible for life in the body. Only a few can overcome this barrier and this fear. Here I temporarily move on to consider the spheres of activity of another powerful god associated with experiences related to those described - Kronos. 5. Kronos has several spheres that essentially follow from one another, which people encounter every day : time, limitations, depression, wisdom, death - this is a fundamental limitation of habitual perception - the end of earthly time. Like Hades, people fear Kronos, instead of drawing from their storehouses of experience. Like Borges’s line: “deriving the priceless experience of death...” It is impossible to live without restrictions. Without restrictions, a person loses his individuality. The first limitation is the skin, the boundary of the body. A person who is not aware of himself in the body is of little use. A man who runs from Kronos, from the awareness of time, finitude, death, is a man of the crowd. True, such a person will not run far. The limitations of such people come suddenly, without any preparation, and, as a rule, cause them the greatest suffering, for which they, alas, are not prepared. But depression as a consequence of limitation is a very good medicine, allowing you to realize yourself, your boundaries, the context of your life, your activities, your emotions, your picture of the world, to re-evaluate something, to take inventory of experience. Limiting experience is also a new experience. But this medicine is not for everyone. There are people, and not too few of them, who commit suicide from depression. They face even more drastic restrictions if they fail. Those who were with Kronos in some kind of hidden omissions, unconscious of course, in some kind of hidden conflict, confrontation with him, fail. Those who “acquired debts” “gave” parts of their soul to Kronos in exchange for not noticing time, escaping depression, not growing old... The restriction is very useful, because at some point it gives the opportunity to switch from the dominant rigid scenario and in small and large contexts. If a person gets used to something, restriction is useful. It is difficult to experience, because a habit has been formed and giving it up is always painful... It can be little things: a person gets used to a comfortable lifestyle and suddenly there is a crisis, etc., you have to switch to a different lifestyle. This is useful, there is a revision - why was something given to a person, what did he do with it, how did he dispose of it... The question arises: are restrictions created at the unconscious request of the person himself at some higher level or is this a decision of the gods? Everything obviously happens according to the will of man and the gods. What is man if not an assembly of gods? Whether this happens consciously or unconsciously is a matter of another limitation - the limitation of consciousness. Consciousness can be expanded. We are all indebted to Kronos, each in our own way. Are there any ways how a person can repay part of the debt to Kronos? Eat. Many people, who know and don’t know, talk about it on the pages of books: living here and now, living the moment as a lasting eternity. If a manfalls into such a stream - consider that he gives Kronos part of his debts. Living in the flow. In the flow of the present. And there is a lot of confusion about this. The present is not only the perception of the physical senses, it is also the world of imagination, the world of the soul, which can also be lived in the present. The Present has meaning as the Present i.e. valuable, most valuable, real, truly existing. Imagination is something that really exists, it is a mental world, it is impossible to ignore it, just as it is impossible to simply reduce it to the functions of physical perception. This is also a kind of castration, also a limitation. You can live in both the inner and outer worlds, and on their edge, and travel back and forth. Being in the present may not coincide with being in the biographical layer, because biography and the history of the soul are things that sometimes come into contact, but most often their trajectories lie in different places. The present is where you are, as long as you are aware of being there. Awareness itself is what gives realness. Therefore, “here and now” is completely misunderstood by many. This is not a lack of imagination, it is a presence both in the imagination and in the physical world, but a conscious presence when a person reflects: where he is, why, why, how. If a person tries to “stop the moment”, to become attached to something in the flow of the past or future, then by doing so he “sells” part of his soul to Kronos, because in this case he falls out of the present and into obsessing over what was or will be. His time begins to loop, Kronos loops him, like a god associated with cyclicity as well. There is a big difference here: fixating on something in fantasy or in the imagination, in the imagination you can move in the present, without fixating, just following the images, observing, embodied in the images. They are fluid, unique, they do not get stuck. If you are fixated on some image, that’s it, you have fallen out of the present. This is very important and worth paying attention to. You can even rehearse the way an actor rehearses a role, mentally transporting yourself to the stage. But this will be a living work of the soul, a living stay in the image. If you savor or, on the contrary, fear the same thing and constantly remain in it, then you have fallen into a cycle. So you can be in the imagination, you can be in fantasy, it will be alive, real, if you follow the image, its living development, its process of self-organization, as a physicist would say. Behind the cascade of choices, behind the cascade of bifurcations that transform this image into a string of other images. A person can extract maximum wisdom from reflection, in the appropriate state, from asceticism, as a limitation, from any limitations, from thinking about finitude, about death. No wonder it is synonymous with wisdom. In the past, it was not without reason that the philosopher was depicted in engravings at a desk on which stands a skull with empty eye sockets as a reminder of finitude and reflections on death, limitations, and the frailty of human existence. Maximum wisdom comes through awareness of these things. Therefore, when Kronos places a limitation on a person by mutual agreement with his Self, which he, in fact, enters as one of the elements, then the person has a chance to become somewhat wiser. From any restriction, even the slightest, even from a cold that knocked a person down for two days, limiting him to actively continue his lifestyle. Or being late for a trolleybus or train, which limits your ability to get somewhere on time, gives you the opportunity to think. It’s impossible to waste time. Or rather, it is possible to lose it if you are not aware of it. You may think that you need to do one thing, but instead you are in some kind of forced isolation, for example, and don’t do it. But it’s not a fact that what you think is what you need. Mentally, you made plans, the plans did not come true, you feel disadvantaged - this is human stupidity, but you can become wiser if you realize this. If you get through this depression, don't run from it,do not try to immediately make up for what is supposedly lost. Another question arises: where is the line where you can understand whether you need to retreat or fight? After all, you can’t just go with the flow and retreat at the slightest obstacle; there are things that require some kind of overcoming. Some people fight and gain, some retreat when faced with obstacles, some fight against windmills. The answer might be: both make sense. For each choice there are guides from other archetypes. If someone is fighting at windmills, it means that someone is guiding him to fight this and gain some experience from it. Where is a person’s choice, one might ask? A person’s choice is to listen to the voice of this or that god, to sit, figuratively speaking, on this or that ray, to listen to the voice that demands to retreat, or the voice that demands to fight. The voices come from different hypostases, from different gods, and it is impossible to say that one of them is more correct, they just give different experiences. What happens that in a person’s soul there is not a single grain that belongs to the person personally? There is a dialectic here: everything belongs to him, all the gods belong to him. Here it is worth understanding not literally that man consists of gods, or gods make man, or gods pull man’s strings like a puppet. Everything is here at once. Man is a collection of deities, this is what he is, all the gods belong to him. Each god moves him towards a certain kind of motives, feelings, thinking, sensations. You don’t have to use the language of the gods, you can break it down according to some other psychological models. It’s just that the language of the gods is the language of a living, mythological picture of the world. If we perceive the soul as a set of channels of feelings and images that connect all the gods together, then the work of the soul is to constantly choose between these motives. There are many situations when the mind comes across a limitation. Among them, one must learn to distinguish where the limitation needs to be pushed aside, giving space to creativity and knowledge of the nature of things with the mind, and where the mind should not try to explain the inexplicable, because it will be a completely meaningless fight with windmills. The mind has a clear functional purpose - to describe and inventory certain phenomena when the description is made. There are phenomena that are fundamentally indescribable, and this is sometimes immediately clear. Maybe language is missing because the mind works with language. There is a famous phrase that apparently came to the 20th century philosopher Ludwig Wittgenstein through Kronos: “The limits of my world are the limits of my language”[8]. Language, after all, is also a self-developing system, growing, branching, somewhere running into dead ends, somewhere branching into new trends, and perhaps in two hundred to a thousand years people will have the opportunity to describe what is now indescribable. But now, if there is no language to describe it, it’s like hitting your head against a wall. There are things that are fundamentally irrational that do not need to be described now, based on the circumstances of this time. And only a few people who have reached a high level of language development are people for whom every word swarms with a string of images that are limited for others who do not have any experience, these are great philosophers, thinkers, cultural experts, scientists, mystics, they can enter into a space of language that explains a lot of things. But, unfortunately, most people do not understand them; people read, say, a book by some modern philosopher: individual words are understandable, but the meaning escapes because there are no figurative connections, but they don’t need them - this is also a limitation. The images are interconnected by many different connections from different sides, from different angles of view, and contexts. It is possible to grasp this intuitively, but it is difficult to describe, although attempts are made by people who speak a certain level of language. Therefore, language is a very important thing, it really expands its boundaries if you let it flow through you and realize what is flowing through you, realize the entire interconnection of images behind every word and phrase. This is pushing the boundaries of language, expansion of consciousness. Sometimes you can comprehend very, very much in one word, because it has many interpretations. 6. One of the fundamental limitations, which also has many interpretations, is, of course, death. Because we have so little connection with the death we carry within ourselves, it seems to “pounce” on us from the outside, like an external force. What we are not aware of in ourselves always seems to come from without. Theology has always known that death is the main concern of the soul. Theology is in a sense concerned with death, with its sacraments and funeral rituals, and descriptions of heaven and hell. But death itself is hardly open to theological investigation. Religious canons were a consequence of the dogmas of faith. The power of the priesthood drew its power from the canons, which represented a worked out position regarding death. This position may vary depending on the form of religion, but it always exists within it. The theologian knows what his position is regarding death. Scripture, tradition, and professional skill assist the theologian in explaining why death exists and what actions are expected of him in relation to it. The hope of the theologian's psychology and his power is the doctrine of life after death. Theological proofs of the existence of the soul are so connected with the canons of death - the canons of immortality, the sin of resurrection, the Day of Judgment, that the open study of death calls into question the very basis of theological psychology. We must remember that the theological position begins at the opposite pole to the psychological. It starts with dogma, not data; from petrified, inanimate experiences. Theology requires from the soul the basis for a refined system of belief in death, which constitutes one aspect of religious power. If there were no soul, man might expect theology to invent one to legitimize the ancient exclusive rights of the priesthood over death. We do not know at what point on the curve of each life statistically one is supposed to enter death. We do not know what the fruiting time allotted to a person before death is. We do not know whether the soul dies at all. First spoken by Plato in the dialogue “Phaedo”, repeated in other sources and at other times, exaggerated, refuted, taken out of context, the philosophical maxim turned out to be true: philosophy is the desire for death and dying. An old natural philosopher, usually concerned with problems of physics and philosophy, was pondering a table on which stood a skull. He not only viewed death from the point of view of life. He looked at life through the empty eye sockets of the skull. Life and death enter the world together; eyes and the sockets in which they are located are born at the same moment. At the moment of my birth, I am already old enough to die. As I continue to live, I continue to die. Death is constantly approaching, and not just at that moment, which is determined by medicine and established legally. Every event in my life contributes to my death, and I create my death by living day by day. Logically, there can be a contrary view: any action against death, any action that resists death, is detrimental to life. 7. As a conclusion to this work, dedicated to the archetypal study of the phenomena of death, limitation and transformation, I will quote from James Hillman's book " Suicide and the Soul,” suggesting in it not only the category of death, but all three designated categories, including limitations and transformation and their significance both for psychotherapeutic work and for cultural understanding: “Philosophy can consider life and death in unity. For philosophy there is no need for them to be mutually exclusive opposites, polarized by Freud into the images of Eros and Thanatos, Death is the only absolute reality in life, the only guarantee and truth. Due to the fact that it is the only state that all life must take into account,», 1996
