My trip to St. Petersburg was marked for me by the opening of the largest museum of contemporary art in Russia. This museum is called Erarta. I am very close to the concept of the museum, which is located almost at the entrance to the exhibition halls. The main mission of the museum: “Increase the number of people who love contemporary art and are interested in supporting it. We address our activities to the widest audience and believe that every person can find something interesting for themselves in contemporary art, and, as a result, learn more about themselves.” This museum teaches the viewer to experience art, refracting it through personal , individual experience. The museum's exhibition evokes a desire to determine one's place in the world and to understand oneself. And the main thing is to see life from different positions and accept life. Perceiving contemporary art may not be so easy. I think this needs to be learned. But it’s worth it. I’ve formulated for myself some principles for visiting a museum. I’m trying to establish a certain relationship with a work of art and with the museum as a whole. If a viewer says that he does not understand art, then this indicates the fact that he does not relate to it in any way. In a museum it is necessary to slow down! I realized this precisely in this Erarta museum. Art does not like to rush. It is not WHAT to watch, but HOW to watch! When we pay attention to WHAT, it is only about form. But the content allows you to develop the skill of HOW to look! Until recently, I myself went to museums in the mode of Instagram perception. Do you know how people scroll through their feed on Instagram?! Forward, forward, forward! Faster, faster, faster! I felt it especially this time. Spectators walk in and turn their heads right, left, forward, back. All! Let's move on. They only look for visual stimuli that seem beautiful to them. We didn’t find it... run on. It's also similar to finding a partner on a dating site. Not that one, not that one, not that one! The alternative to such perception is slowing down! What do I see as the museum's resources? When you learn to establish relationships with the museum, life will take on new colors! I assume that this may also affect the quality of interpersonal relationships! Works of art enrich you. They reveal their soul to you! You just have to want it. Works of art can support you. Works of art provide a resourceful state! A museum is a source of creativity. Art and museum space have significant psychotherapeutic potential. What do you see as the resources of the museum and art?
