Today no one is surprised by the phrase that all diseases are from nerves. Modern psychological science has made a lot of progress in understanding the causes of diseases. However, I do not know of a single perfect reference book of psychosomatic causes of diseases . There is a lot of information, and it is not as easy to systematize as we would like. Systems theory says that a change in one element leads to a change in the entire system, various philosophical trends that the internal is equal to the external, the upper is the lower, and so on. The main point is that everything is interconnected. Oriental medicine realized thousands of years ago that it is not the disease or the organ that needs to be treated, but the body system in which the balance is disturbed. All of these individually are very large and interesting topics. In this article I will try to convey the main essence of such a phenomenon as psychosomatics. Psychosomatics looks at the body not only as the seat of the soul, but also of a person’s entire life. I propose to think in the following way - to look at one’s own illness through the prism of metaphor and symbol. Usually I suggest thinking about the functionality of the diseased organ at the level of the entire body system and extrapolate (transfer) the acquired knowledge to a similar area of life. It is very useful to read in medical reference books about how it is structured, how it works, and what the organ that is doing is doing. It is easy to find out that the bones have a supporting function, the skin has a physical protective function, and the immune system also protects, but from some much more subtle phenomena .I don't really like the idea of working with affirmations, which many reference books contain. But it can be very useful to draw out in them the spiritual symbolic meaning of the illness that has occurred. For example, you read that the liver is the repository of anger, the gallbladder is the organ of expressing anger in the language of symbols, the lungs are the organ of freedom. What should we do next? To understand how this topic is specifically expressed in your life right now. I will continue the example with the gallbladder, a fairly common symptom of which is stagnation of bile in many people, and this is not even considered a disease, but often provokes discomfort and even pain. So, anger that is not expressed. Some kind of affirmation in the spirit: “I express my anger easily and freely” seems useless to me. Firstly, if anger arose, there was some reason, and secondly, if anger could not be expressed, there was some reason for that too. Evolutionarily, humans have developed the ability to restrain their emotions when it threatens their safety. Agree, it would be strange to go and express all your anger to the bully who cut you off on the road, especially if he is 2 times wider and 1.5 times taller than you. Do you understand what I’m getting at? We are dealing with an internal conflict - on the one hand - I have an emotion, on the other hand, I am a sane person, and I understand the consequences of my actions. Psychosomatic illness is a kind of expression of an accumulating and unresolved internal conflict - I am angry and I cannot express anger, otherwise it will be bad. In the example above, we make a choice to take care of our safety and this is a rational choice from the point of view of the integrity of the body. But what if I have a habit of not allowing myself to be angry even within my mental space: at my parents, at my child, at my husband, at my boss , on a sister, a friend? After all, it was instilled in me as a child that you cannot be angry with your loved ones, no one will love you if you are angry. And so on. I think that many people have similar beliefs. And in this particular example, for healing it is usually enough just to work through such beliefs, to allow yourself to be angry within yourself. What will be constructive is not blindly throwing out anger on others, but reaching agreements, talking about your feelings, formulating requests, while maintaining respect for your own need to maintain good relationships with loved ones. Thus, in order to heal, you need to: Study the functionality of the diseased organ at the level body systemsView)
