What does it mean to let go? I think everyone has seen such moments when, for example, a mother calls her adult son and asks. Hi, how are you? And what are you doing? And he answers “I drink” or some other action (which the mother does not accept) and the brain drain begins. “Oh, you are so bad, and you are so and so.” Here we go. Brain removal. Or vice versa. The son calls his mother, “How are you, what are you doing?” Mom: “Yes, I’m buying myself a new orchid.” And away we go, “Why do you need these orchids, but you spend all the money on them, and your whole house is already in these flowers, what should you do?” nothing, but it would be better...” and further in the text. Again, brain drain. Did the mother let go of her son in the first example and did the son let go of the mother in the second example? – NO. So what does it mean to let go? Letting go is recognizing the right of this person to be different and to act in his own way. Recognize that this person may have his own values (which I, for example, do not approve of at all), have his own goals and go towards these goals in his own way (and this method, for example, I may not accept at all). I will give this example. My friend doesn't like going to the dentist at all. He waits until the last minute and will go to this terrible office to this terrible doctor only when everything is already fucked up and the “horse” is dead. I used to be very angry at his disregard for my health. How did it happen?! Well, it’s obvious that if a tooth hurts, then that’s it - go to the doctor, and don’t take painkillers. And now I have “let go” of my friend. I recognized his right to be different and do what he wants in life. This doesn't mean I approve of his behavior. No. This means I allow him to live the way he wants to live his life, and not the way I want him to live his life. And this does not mean that it doesn’t hurt me when he gets into trouble while going his own way. And it’s sooooo painful, I want to tell you. And then he suffers for a very long time. Have you let your children, parents, relatives and friends go? Sy. I know that many men are afraid to go to the dentist. When I was at the dentist’s appointment, the doctor told me: “You have a very beautiful mouth.” This amused me)))) I asked: “Why do men rarely come to appointments?”, to which I received the answer “Very.” VERY rarely and often when practically nothing can be done».
