The work of a psychologist: Interesting and Useful 952 Good afternoon, Dear Friends! And you and I continue to study the work of a therapist, we continue to study its various features, we continue to share our experience and knowledge accumulated during practice. I bring to your attention the nine hundred and fifty-second article in the series. In my article yesterday, we raised the topic of the therapist’s focus when working with clients. I wrote that each therapist has a different focus, and that it is difficult to maintain focus on many aspects. He wrote that the focus can be, for example, on the client’s family system, on his body, on his vocabulary, etc. That is, the focus of attention in this case is, as it were, the main tool of the therapist. The way he works with the client with his request. For example, someone brings their shame to the therapist. One therapist will focus on the client’s family (parental) when working with him, another on his body, a third on beliefs, a fourth on the client’s words, and so on. Today I will write you a few words about focusing on the client’s vocabulary, about how to work with the client’s vocabulary. For example, we can write down all the verbs that our client uses in his speech. After all, as you understand, you can use very different words that can carry different connotations, different semantic loads, and can evoke different associations. For example, you can say “uses”, you can say “uses”, or you can say “uses”. There may already be different meanings, different analogies may come to mind: he takes advantage of people, drinks alcohol... In general, we write out the verbs from the client’s speech and look at them in general, at what picture emerges, what associations we have. We can draw some conclusions. It may turn out that the client, for example, always clearly talks about failures at work, and the verbs tell us about sex: “... exposes (the problem) ...”, “... I master (knowledge) ...”, “... I am satisfied (with the results of work) ...” and the like. So, then you can talk about sex with the client, find out what he has with this topic. You can find something interesting. Please look for a small addition to the topic in my note today - https://www.b17.ru/blog/374867/Do you also want to share something? Please write below in the comments! It will be important and interesting for everyone to learn something useful for their work or just for themselves! Thank you for your attention!
