Today, using the example of this case, I will continue to share with you how a psychologist can work. Client: “What else could I do to switch...?” The psychologist can answer here like this: “As if you are very afraid of stopping, silence, solitude. . You need to load yourself up with something all the time...”...The client says: “I would like to find some other “things” to relax, to switch…. Is there anything else I can do about driving, get a license...? Or maybe walk more before bed..? Or start watching Soviet films, there’s a lot of positive stuff there...?”What hypotheses can be put forward here? What can we assume? Firstly, you can remove the word “things” from quotation marks in the client’s speech. Why? Because he really talks about some things. He seeks deliverance through some things, through deeds. Not through people! A psychologist here can react like this, for example: “You are listing things, but you can really only rely on people.” So, a good topic for further work emerges: the client, since it seems that he has some difficulties in building contacts, in interacting with others. Let me remind you that all negative emotions are easier and faster to live through if they are shared with someone something attentive and understanding.
