Hello, today let's talk a little about our fears, their causes and origins. Our life is full of strange things. In the post-Soviet space, even more strange things have been added. Strange restaurants like McDonald's appeared, all kinds of chewing gum, Kinder surprises, entertainment that came from the West. Even the range of film genres has expanded immeasurably. Previously, there were films about war, about love and comedies. And now science fiction, all kinds of action films, fantasy, thrillers and, of course, horror films have appeared. Probably many of you remember “Freddy Krueger”, “tales from the crypt”, “the living dead”. Everything is a curiosity, everything is terribly interesting. And here’s the paradox, they are not pleasant for us and even scary, sometimes it really gives us chills, but we always or often watch such videos, despite the hanging intestines, rivers of blood and falling out eyes... Why could this be interesting to us? There are several, not entirely obvious, reasons for this. The very first thing that lies on the surface is the desire to feel alive. What does it mean? It's simple. When we see a person with a ripped open stomach, from which intestines are falling out, or a severed head, somewhere deep inside us the thought runs through us: “It’s good that I’m here, I’m safe at home and this is all I see, not with me.” This quite obvious, although not always explicit, thought allows us to feel that we are still alive and everything is fine with us. Also, our aggressiveness plays an important role in our interest in this genre of cinema; more often it is hidden in the unconscious. To you and me, as extremely friendly and nice people, the very thought of harming someone may seem disgusting. As a rule, you and I are all socialized, i.e. adapted to life in society, we know from childhood that we need to take into account the opinions of close (and not so close) people. But deep down, sometimes each of us wants to literally tear the offender apart. Like Freddy Krueger, rip, gut, destroy... Essentially, this genre of cinema allows us to unwind, throw out the negativity, cleanse ourselves without harming anyone. Progress plays an important role in the interest in such cinema, protecting modern man from many ways to throw out his emotions, while simultaneously helping to daily accumulate internal tension. Well, let it be so, let watching horror films be the realization of our secret desires. What then scares us when watching? Everything is also quite simple. First, we ourselves are afraid of being gutted, and when we see how this can happen in the example of others, it scares us. What about zombies? What about the living dead? What's wrong? Well, they walk around with broken limbs, well, they groan with their decaying bodies, so what? And now we are scared because we are afraid of getting infected, afraid of being bitten. In the end, to become the same “living dead”... one of the crowd of barely moving, insensitive... Well, what is actually terrible about the living dead? What’s bad about these creatures is that such characters as zombies or the living dead are not interested in travel, painting, music or other living things; in films, as a rule, they don’t even know how to speak. One thing is important for them - to eat! So it turns out that when we look at the movement of these soulless creatures, something shrinks inside us and we are afraid to become the same creatures who are only interested in food and other carnal needs. We are afraid that apart from these primary needs we will not see anything in this life. And here is also this covert association of a crowd of zombies with a crowd of people daily wandering with dull eyes to their unloved, painful work and back. This is what we are really afraid of! We are simply afraid that our life will pass, end, and we won’t even notice it...Even films about vampires against this background are not so scary, but rather interesting, because... vampires are simply cold and calculating, they have a slightly unusual regime, and their life is not only attractive, but also stately (they often live with entire families and clans in mysterious.
