Have you ever had the feeling that life is passing by, but as if passing by? Something happens, but somehow more automatically? It seems like there are a lot of events in life, but there is emptiness in your soul? People multitask, they can do several things automatically, it’s easier this way, you have time to do more things. But what is the price? For example, a man returns from work, the sun sets, the clouds are illuminated in gold, one of the passers-by begins to photograph the sky, but our hero has no time for that, he is thinking about the last meeting. Thoughts are spinning in his head about how he looked in the eyes of others, what they thought of him. So he returns home, eats dinner and reads the news, he almost doesn’t taste the food. He washes the dishes and plans for tomorrow. He almost doesn’t feel the temperature of the water or its touch on his skin. Before going to bed he turns on a movie, but he is tormented by a feeling of guilt that he chose to watch TV rather than read professional literature. The day is over, but has it been lived? How long did the person spend in the moment “here and now?” Our hero's evening was accompanied by anxiety, tension, he was either in the past or in the future. He did not notice the beauty of the sunset, could not enjoy the taste of food and watching a movie. He went to bed with a feeling of heaviness and dissatisfaction. All his attention was concentrated in his head, in the sphere of the mind. We all do some things automatically, there is nothing wrong with that if a person does not live like that 24 hours a day. Very often during sessions, clients are confused by questions: “What is wrong with you now?”, “What are you feeling?”, "What's wrong with your body?" Stopping and listening to yourself is not easy. I remember how difficult it was for me to answer these questions at first. The head with its intellectualization always came first, and I wanted to skip such questions. Intellectualization allows you to control your emotions with the help of your mind. And this is also not bad until a person turns into a robot, but allows himself to experience different emotions: happy, sad, angry, surprised, etc. You can do a simple awareness exercise: It is advisable to turn on the recorder and write down your words for a few minutes , starting with the phrase: “Now I realize that...” As the exercise progresses, a moment will definitely arise when you want to stop. But if you notice this, talk about it and continue doing the exercise, then it is likely that something especially interesting will appear. Something that makes you feel excited in anticipation of the discovery of something exciting and uncontrollable.
