School has returned to the lives of children, teenagers and their parents. And along with it - apathy, swearing against the backdrop of a reluctance to learn and a lack of understanding of the meaning of learning. Everyone is worried - parents, teachers, and sometimes children too (when adults start pestering them about homework and good grades). “Mom, why do I need this study?!” says the schoolboy and gives examples of “successful people.” ” people who were able to move abroad and earn billions without “any kind of” education. In addition, the teenager adds the famous phrase: “And how will this mathematics (or other subject) be useful to me in life?” A teenager has arguments for all occasions in his arsenal, and you need to be prepared for them. How to explain to a teenager the importance of education without shouting and scandals? Spoiler - it will be hard. Surely you also didn’t really like school and dreamed that your studies there would end as soon as possible. Answer all objections with a compelling argument. For example: “And he dropped out of school and became a millionaire without any education!” What do we answer? “Yes, there are successful people without education, but there are very few of them. Studying is not only knowledge, but also cultivating endurance, diligence and perseverance. Sometimes in life you have to do something you don't like, but it's necessary. The school gives you these skills to get out of any situation - write a test with an “A” when you know the subject with a “4”, or negotiate with a teacher who never makes concessions to anyone. A person adapts all these seemingly insignificant tasks in adult life when solving big, grandiose matters.” Find a compromise Perhaps your child is a creative person who demands freedom! Offer him a compromise: let him develop his abilities, but not at the expense of his studies. Find a balance to combine both activities. Explain that education is a safety net. After school, a teenager enters a secondary or higher educational institution. Yes, you can do without it in life, but getting a profession is a safety net that can help in times of crisis. Perhaps the student wants to open his own business and become a businessman. But you need to look at everything from different angles - what if the business fails? The education you receive can save you from unforeseen circumstances. Find out why the student does not want to study. It may be that your child has problems with the school staff or teachers that you have no idea about! In this case, you can discuss the situation with the director of the educational institution or change school (by the way, in this case there are also features of the child’s psychological adaptation). Sometimes a child may miss a topic during a lesson and this can lead to an accumulation of learning problems. The teenager may decide that it is easier to simply refuse school, which only makes the situation worse.
