From the author: There are times in every person’s life when you want to crawl under the covers, read books - the main thing is that no one bothers you. It passes. A day, two, a week - and you are again ready to run to your friends, immerse yourself in work. It is much worse when the desire to hide “in the house” drags on for months and comes to the cry of the soul: “Don’t touch me, I don’t want to get out of my hole! » This happened to my client. With the help of metaphorical associative cards, we figured out the problem. A girl came to me for an individual consultation. Irina* (name changed for ethical reasons) is 27 years old. She lives with her mother, the girl is not married, she has no relationships with young people and, by and large, never has. I don’t have a lot of friends either – friends, acquaintances. I invite the client from a deck of metaphorical associative cards - “Scenario in Action” - to choose a card of her state called: “I don’t want to leave the house.” Card “Red Umbrella” Irina: - Gloomy, rainy city. Cold, chilly, anxious, lonely. Everyone passes by and doesn’t look at my cool red umbrella. No, or rather not like that. They pay attention, but fleetingly, they may say something out of politeness and move on. They say something nice, but don't linger. By and large, I don’t care at all. I feel sorry for this girl on the map. She is lonely and very sad, but for some reason there is no desire to come up and help her. I will stand, look at her, complain about her sad fate, but I will not do anything - not encourage, not support. Me: - What will happen after she wanders around the city? Irina: - She will walk like this until she will freeze. Then he will go home, where he will also be sad and occupy himself with important things. And the thought will be spinning in my head: “Why am I alone, why is no one needed?” I ask what this card can be called. Irina: “Lonely journey.” I suggest choosing the next card, which will tell you how Irina feels after this lonely journey. Card “ Match and candle” Irina: “I feel like a burnt match.” Life goes on, but I’m still burned out, and now no one needs me. I lit up someone's life, and everyone forgot about me. Everyone is busy with the candle: they admire it, it’s warm, light, bright next to it. And I am the burnt match that lit this candle. The match is useless, unnecessary, forgotten. Me: - What will happen later when the match finishes worrying? Irina: - The match wants to light up again and light another candle. And so on ad infinitum. I’ll light it, lie down, worry about my uselessness, uselessness and oblivion, then I’ll light up and start lighting the candles again. I wonder what Irina is depriving herself of by living such a life? I ask you to pull out another card. The “Pearl” card. Irina: - Precious pearls. The girl is a little scared under water. But it’s beautiful and interesting there. You can collect a lot of pearls and climb up with them. Everyone will see the girl with pearls and will run to her not because of her wealth. They will admire the girl: she is so brave, resourceful, and can find pearls so well. Everyone will be friends with her and have fun. Life will become real, bright, full. I realized that I was depriving myself of such a life and communication. I suggest Irina choose a card at random. She will tell the client why she is doing this. Card “Power” Irina: - So as not to bear the burden of power. You are responsible for everything. This man was given power, but he doesn’t need it, it’s heavy. And no one pays attention to the fact that it is too heavy for him. Everyone tells him how great and honorable it is to have power. Me: — If this map was a part, a still from a movie, what kind of movie would it be? Irina: — This is a movie about a girl who was born into a royal family. And when she was 5 years old, she was placed on the throne. She became queen. Next to her all the time was a female nurse who told the girl how cool it was to be a queen. “Then you will have so many opportunities, you will be able to do whatever you want,” the nurse whispered. The girl believed it, but in reality everything turned out to be completely different. She needed to think about everyone who was next to her. She had no time to think about herself.
