Various feelings of guilt Unhealthy feelings of guilt often arise in situations where other people are involved in our relationships, in my experience, often these are the people closest to us. When this is felt, it will affect our well-being and the well-being of others. There are three forms of unhealthy guilt, namely unresolved guilt, survivor's guilt, and separation/betrayal guilt. Unresolved guilt can arise from not recognizing that we are less adept in apologizing to people who were hurt. This guilt can also arise from too many negative actions that we have committed towards other people, so it is difficult for them to forgive us. Meanwhile, feelings of guilt can arise without a clear understanding of where the mistakes were made. This form of guilt is known as survivor's guilt. Survivors of accidents, disasters, wars, or other terrible tragedies may blame themselves for surviving these events. They think, “Why am I the only survivor and they are not?” Survivor guilt is a very complex and difficult form of guilt. This is because people affected by this form of guilt do not know what to do to make amends. Another reason is that there is no broken relationship to mend or no apology to make. Then there is separation guilt, which is the guilt that comes from having to breaking up with other people to pursue what you want or to continue living, for example, someone wants to be fulfilled in work, so you have to make a choice that will lead to guilt. This feeling also often arises when you have to leave your parents to continue your studies. In fact, we know that parents will feel lonely after leaving them. This separation guilt is often associated with infidelity guilt. Feeling guilty about betrayal occurs when we feel attached to other people, such as family or friends. Then, when the decisions we make seem to go against their rules and expectations, we feel bad and guilty. Friends, have you experienced any of the guilt described above? I would be grateful for your comments and rating.
