I would like to touch on the topic of people who experienced strong shocks, namely the military operations that took place in my hometown, in the city of Lugansk...Life before and after, how to find it in yourself strength to move on after loss, disappointment, pain. How to believe in a positive result after so many attacks and brutal aggression, how not to give up? They say it is better to see once than to hear a hundred times... but you look at what is happening in Donbass, and the saying takes on the opposite meaning... Every person who was in this difficult time used their own defense mechanisms, coping strategies. Mostly people tried to stick together, because together we are strong! Team spirit gave hope for the future, this is how people interacted with each other and survived in very difficult and dangerous living conditions. Unification, exchange of energy, mutual assistance...at the heart of this, people showed that no matter how difficult it is, there is another person who will come to the rescue, who will share warmth and kind words. Having experienced strong upheavals, the people united so much that they still feel connected to each other and help each other. We cannot be broken because we are united! I think there is some truth in this, our spirit and our faith in the best are stronger than the simple calculation of people who think only about mercantile goals... And now I would like to say how our nature took care of us, it gave us mechanisms psychological protection! Psychological defenses turn on themselves in order to reduce the intensity of negative experiences and help a person overcome strong emotional shocks. The functional purpose and goal of psychological defense is to weaken intrapersonal conflict (tension, anxiety) caused by contradictions between the instinctive impulses of the unconscious and the learned demands of the external environment that arise as a result of social interaction. By weakening this conflict, defense regulates a person’s behavior, increasing his adaptability and balancing the psyche. Psychological defenses always function and work, and during times of severe stress they are activated and work more intensively. Defense mechanisms really do a great job of protecting health, helping a person endure severe stress and emotional upheaval. Data obtained during the study: After conducting research, we can conclude that people most often use primitive psychological defense mechanisms, such as projection, regression and denial. People in extreme conditions descend to a low level of personality development and act based on instincts. Social support is a dominant strategy that helps bring people together to improve morale and physical support. People are also actively focused on solving problems. A person activates all his internal resources to maintain vital functions and reduce internal anxiety. We can say that people survived as best they could, used all their resources and believed in the best... After all, hope and faith that everything will work out gives us the strength to move forward no matter what difficulties! PEACEFUL SKIES TO ALL!
