How to quickly recover from watching difficult news? How to more easily find peace and inner silence? How to regain a clear mind and sound thinking? There is a very simple technique that does not take much time, but can can be quite effective when you are emotionally unstable, upset, depressed, angry or afraid. Here is the practice: Sit comfortably and close your eyes. Feel the weight of your body on the chair and how firmly your feet are planted on the floor. Breathe deeply and softly. Now bring your attention to your stomach - about 2 fingers below your navel and 2 fingers deep. The center of gravity of your body is located in this same area. If it is difficult to do this right away, you can practice a little - again and again gently withdrawing your attention from the external world (from where you are mentally now) to your stomach. With each exhalation you sink deeper and deeper into your body. You can place your hands on your stomach to feel it better. And then stay your attention there for a while. You can imagine a small dense sphere or ball there. This is your inner place of silence, peace and strength. The longer you stay there, the calmer you will become. After this short practice, open your eyes and with your eyes open, try to stay in contact with this point of peace within you. Try to be in contact with the outer world and the inner world at the same time... PS Of course, this practice does not affect the underlying reasons for your involvement in difficult events and, if you are already very bogged down in unpleasant experiences, it will only help for a short time. Because deep in the subconscious there is a repressed story that instantly responds to external triggers and floats to the surface. In such cases, of course, you need to work with a specialist. But this simple technique is quite effective if you were in a good resource state, but suddenly lost it under influence of what is happening. This practice is also suitable for training calmness and self-rootedness in calmer times. If you are interested in my articles, subscribe so as not to miss anything interesting.
