Is it impossible not to watch the news? I understand, but when we check the news feed, we experience stress or other negative emotions. What will help cope with these conditions?1. Support and understanding of loved ones and relatives. Simply being there and listening to someone who is stressed from constantly reading the news can be very valuable. Support and understanding will help him feel less lonely and more secure, as will you.2. Try to limit the time you spend watching news and try not to exceed it. This will help avoid constant stress from information overload.3. Try to distract yourself with benefit: a book, a movie, cooking dinner, even a work process - all of this will “gain” a little time from scrolling the news.4. Call, write, go for a walk with friends, family or colleagues to escape your constant online presence.5. Don't forget to eat and sleep. Daily routine is very important.6. Do household chores, be with your children, talk to them about what is happening. Believe me, they feel and understand everything. Unfortunately, there are things that we cannot change, but trying not to “destroy” ourselves and our loved ones is the main source of strength to cope with the reaction to what is happening. It’s unlikely that anything will help today’s world, tomorrow’s - maybe. There is no justification for cruelty and violence. There are no explanations that could give an understanding of why people's lives are taken. There is not even a thought about what to do when a tragedy occurs nearby, unwittingly becoming witnesses to the disaster. “Ira, this is a nightmare” “The world has gone crazy” “How can I not watch the news channels?” “It’s scary and alarming that this happened completely nearby” “What can be done to alleviate the state of horror?” Someone wrote, someone was silent, someone read... In the news, social networks and between people there will be many different instructions, advice and recommendations on how to survive the universal misfortune. I think the main tool is in the words “you are not alone, we are with you.” Sharing your condition and feeling of tragedy with your loved ones and relatives may bring, albeit small, relief. In the meantime, I will cry and grieve with you, maintaining humanity, kindness and faith in the World.
