People who come to me for a consultation for the first time very often ask questions about what we will do at the meeting, how I can help them, what method I use, are conversations alone enough, how many meetings are needed to help, I’ll go whether I'm at home, etc. This makes me think that many are still very superficially aware of the essence of psychological services, but feeling anxiety about the existing problem and not understanding its nature, they intuitively choose a specialist about whom little is known due to mystery (often created by the media ) and rumors about “magical” healings (again the media). I dare to admit that I myself “sinned” with similar myths about the profession of a psychologist until I began to seriously master the craft of a qualified “healer.” And, over time, I became convinced that practical psychology (let me further call it, as it is called throughout the enlightened world - psychotherapy) indeed contains both magic (improvement of a condition due to specific relationships) and a clear scientific basis! The simplest definition of psychotherapy looks like this: Psychotherapy is the treatment of the soul. For a more complete understanding of what I do, I will give an excerpt from the Strasbourg Declaration: 1. Psychotherapy is a special discipline from the field of humanities, the exercise of which is a free and independent profession;2. Psychotherapeutic education requires a high level of theoretical and clinical preparedness;3. A variety of therapeutic methods is guaranteed;4. Education in the field of one of the psychotherapeutic methods should be carried out integrally; it includes theory, personal therapeutic experience, and supervised practice; At the same time, a broad understanding of other methods is acquired;5. Access to such education is subject to extensive prior training, particularly in the humanities and social sciences. European Association of Psychotherapy (EAP), Strasbourg, October 21, 1990 Now about what happens in my office. Usually a meeting with a client is carried out by prior arrangement by telephone, on a certain day and time. At the meeting, I propose to talk in detail about the problem. This the story may be accompanied by my clarifications. Sometimes I ask the client to listen to his experiences and desires, to be in the role of someone close or familiar, to say something on their behalf. It happens that we take paper, pencils and paints and something let's draw. Sometimes we get to the guitar and play something nice or sing. We look at photographs, go to the mirror, talk about our experiences, do special exercises (stand up, move to another chair, walk, take something, move something, etc.). It is very important that the client trusts me! To do this, I guarantee complete confidentiality, anonymity and security of the individual. In one way or another, I look for opportunities and implement them to alleviate the person’s condition and make him aware of what he himself is doing so that the problem exists. To put it figuratively, I eliminate in the soul a person has obstacles to the healthy functioning and development of his personality. For a sustainable psychotherapeutic effect, I usually need from 1-2 to 10-15 one-hour meetings, with a frequency of 1 or 2 sessions per week. Some of my clients notice positive results after the first meeting. I agree on my fee at the beginning of the meeting or over the phone. The cost of a session is limited to one hour, therefore, as the session increases in time, its price increases proportionally. Payment is due at the end of each consultation. If the consultation is carried out over the Internet, then payment is made before it begins. A failed meeting is paid for by the client in full or conducted by me free of charge. If for some reason I do not show up for a meeting on the appointed day and time and do not notify in advance about the cancellation, then
