To beat or not to beat?.. Everything that is achieved through training, pressure, violence is fragile, incorrect and unreliable. Janusz Korczak, Polish teacher and writer. Abuse is a multifaceted, and, unfortunately, widespread and pressing problem of modern family and other education. Child abuse is the actions (or inaction) of parents, educators and other persons that harm the physical or mental health of the child. In addition to the fact that child abuse is punishable by law (Article 156 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), such treatment of children boomerangs not only to such parents in the form of remorse (we hope so), but also to children, leaving scars on their bodies, on their hearts... The ideas about the harmful effects of abuse not only on the physical, but also on the mental health of children are confirmed research by scientists. For example, King's College London studied 26,000 people and found that people who were exposed to various forms of abuse in childhood were twice as likely to experience depression as the average. Draw your own conclusions. There are several reasons for this phenomenon: lack of communication between mother and child, excessively strict discipline in the family, cruelty that creates fear. There is a lot of controversy, both among outstanding teachers and among parents and other adults about what constitutes such problem like abuse. Let's try to put everything in its place. There are several forms of abuse: physical, sexual, mental abuse, neglect. To begin with, violence is any form of relationship aimed at establishing or maintaining control by force over another person. Physical abuse is actions (inaction) on the part of parents or others adults, as a result of which the physical and mental health of the child is impaired or is at risk of impairment. Psychological violence is behavior that causes fear in children, psychological pressure in humiliating forms (humiliation, insult), accusations against the child (swearing, screaming), belittlement his successes, rejecting a child, committing violence against a spouse or other children in the presence of a child, etc. Child sexual abuse - any contact or interaction in which a child is sexually stimulated or used for sexual stimulation. Neglect of a child's basic needs - inattention to the basic needs of the child in food, clothing, medical care, supervision. Having familiarized yourself with the forms of abuse, something still becomes extremely clear: everything is in your hands, adults, and the consequences of such actions are on your conscience, parents and educators. Child, attention: he doesn’t owe anyone anything, if only because he’s a child. The only thing childhood can do is to grow, develop and be happy. If you, dear adults, consider yourself a Human, a Human with a capital P, you will not act in such a way that your actions cause scars on the body and heart of your child. In conclusion, here is another quote from the famous teacher Janusz Korczak, who, by the way, stayed with his students to the last, to the last in the gas chamber, having the opportunity to escape: “An educator who does not want unpleasant surprises and does not want to be responsible for the fact that may happen - a tyrant.” We do not call on you, adults, to save all children from the most terrible conditions in which a child can live, we call on you to save your children from your own cruelty.
