Uncertainty is an integral and natural part of life. And despite the fact that this part follows us everywhere like a companion, coping with feelings of uncertainty can be very, very difficult. It often causes anxiety, makes it difficult to make decisions and move forward, and sometimes even paralyzes. In some sense we feel helpless, small and insignificant. Control over your own life seems to be in the hands of some other forces or people. What can you do to help yourself cope with this condition and effectively manage your emotions? Recognition and acceptance. The first - and most important - step on this path is to recognize and accept uncertainty. It is natural to feel discomfort and anxiety when faced with it, but it is important to recognize that it is always present in life as an unshakable given. The truth is that we can't control everything: the weather, actions, other people's thoughts or unexpected events. Acceptance will help you focus on what you can control and let go of what you cannot. Determine what you can control. Although there are many things in life that are beyond our control, there are things that are under our control. It is important to identify what is included in this controllable circle and focus energy and effort on those areas. Develop a Plan: Having a plan for disturbing events will help you feel better and less anxious. By working through your options for different scenarios, you regain your sense of support. After all, now when an event occurs (or does not occur), you have clear instructions or at least an idea of what can be done. Practice self-care. It is important to take care of yourself physically, emotionally and mentally. Maintaining a healthy diet, exercise routine, getting enough sleep, and engaging in a social life can increase your resilience to stress and anxiety. Seek support: Talking to a trusted friend, family member, or mental health professional can be incredibly supportive. It can be helpful to get the perspective of others who have experienced similar situations and learn from their experiences. Practice mindfulness Mindfulness is the practice of being present and fully engaged in the moment. One of the key aspects of mindfulness is the concept of acceptance. Rather than trying to control or change their thoughts or feelings, mindfulness encourages people to simply observe them as they arise, without judgment. Challenge Negative Thoughts: Feelings of uncertainty can lead to negative thoughts and beliefs. It is important to challenge them and replace them with more positive and realistic ones. For example, instead of thinking, “I will never understand this,” try thinking, “This is difficult, but I can find a solution.” Finally, I would like to say that although uncertainty can be uncomfortable, frightening, and disorienting, in some ways, in that sense, it is necessary for growth and development, and we can choose how to use such power.
