What does going into cyberspace give a person?1. It is full of impressions.2. You can merge with the character of the game.3. Opportunity for fantasy.4. Provides teenagers with virtual separation and desired independence from their parents.5. When you don't accept your body image, cyberspace can be attractive.6. Feeling of omnipotence.7. The mechanism of satisfying needs (feelings are illusory). The connection between Internet addiction and depression1. Studies have proven the influence of Internet addiction on the occurrence of phobias, panic attacks and depression.2. There are people who cannot control how much time they spend on the Internet, which leads to poor functioning in real life.3. According to research from 2016-2017. it became known that the more time a person spends on social networks, the higher the risk of depression. Symptoms of depression in cyber addiction1. Alarm (for example, if a smartphone is unavailable).2. Eating disorders.3. Decreased performance.4. Loss of satisfaction from life.5. Imaginary realization of communicative incompetence (due to anonymity).6. Progression of fear of reality.7. FOMO syndrome (the feeling that others have a more active life).8. Decreased self-esteem9. Addiction to likes and the pursuit of recognition.10. Envy and false negative attitudes11. Negative evaluation of others.12. Merging of the virtual and real “I” (inadequately inflated self-assessments, pseudo-reality, depending on the number of subscribers).13. Decreased mood, activity and fatigue.14. Sleep disorders.15. Decreased ability to concentrate. Exercises: 1. Exercise “Counterconception” In order to develop the ability to treat life and different situations adequately, you can use a variety of exercises. For example, even in ancient times they used the concept of “counterconception”, which translated from Greek means “opposition to something or someone.” A person who is addicted to computer games can be asked to consider a specific situation similar to his own, break it down into pieces and draw conclusions and possible predictions. Perhaps the most striking example is a fable. Relatives, especially parents of children who cannot be torn away from the computer, can use a simple school curriculum: study fables, explain to the child the meaning of the fable, the moral. An adult can be offered real situations that happened to someone in life. You can even use folk literature: proverbs and sayings.2. Exercise “Agreement and opposition” This exercise helps to reveal a person’s behavior, understand his actions and motives for behavior. There is nothing complicated in this exercise: you need to put yourself in the shoes of your interlocutor and try to understand the reasons for his behavior. To do this, you can use the following three steps:1. Agree with the person that it is necessary to discuss a specific topic, that is, convince him of this need.2. Try to change places and behavior, then express your opinion and listen to the opinions of your interlocutors. In other words, this can be done both in the kitchen and on a walk, simply by talking with your child or relative about what is bothering them all.3. Consolidating the level of relationship that they were able to achieve (for example, saying that from this day on, in every similar case (in case of disagreement), you can change places and find out what the rest of the family members think about this).3. Exercise “Me and my life path” In order to help a person who is in a computer addiction free himself from it, you can use this exercise. It consists of compiling and studying (chronology) of your life in the context of your family history. In order not to be distracted from the main task, the “question-answer” technique is used. For example, you can use the following questions: how was a person characterized during his school and student years? How did the people around you feel aboutspecific actions of this person? You can ask other questions that could help in compiling the profile. You can start keeping entries in a diary, the analysis of which often helps to rationally evaluate your own actions after a certain time.4. Exercise “Creating a Time Line” This exercise is aimed at drawing up a “probable life line”, which will be compiled from the events of past years, planned from what is currently available. In this case, it is necessary to describe every possible scenario of events, for example, if a person susceptible to computer addiction continues to live as he lives at the moment, then his future life may turn out this way, and if he changes his attitude towards the computer, then his life may to be like this, i.e. you need to create something like an algorithm of probable events in a person’s life. Drawing up such an algorithm makes it possible to consider all possible options for the future of a particular person. 5. Exercise “Getting rid of negative emotions” This exercise will help relieve nervous tension and get rid of negative emotions. By closing your eyes and relaxing, you can imagine a picture that should resemble a real negative situation. You can abstract yourself from yourself in this situation and look at your actions as if from the outside. The next step is to try to evaluate your own actions and actions, to give an adequate assessment of your “double”. By replaying a negative situation, but from the outside, as an observer and not a participant, a person can see what he did not see while in the thick of things. Thus, you can mentally correct the situation the way the person himself wants. And when everything goes exactly like this, then your mood will gradually improve for the better. This exercise can be used before bed to get rid of a bad mood.6. Exercise “Working with Anxiety” The main trump card of this exercise is self-hypnosis, which helps regulate your condition depending on what results you need to achieve. For example, before speaking to a large audience, a person may decide how he will behave, what he will say, where he will stand, and how he will respond to issues that cause him anxiety. By building your “virtual” behavior in this way, you can ensure that the level of stress and anxiety will significantly decrease. This exercise can be used not only before performances, but also in any other life situation. For example, in the case when a person is forced, against his will, to live for a long time without a computer.7. Exercise “Working with attachment” You can get rid of computer and Internet addiction (or at least reduce the level of addiction) using this exercise. You can imagine your addiction in the form of a thread, a ribbon. Then you need to try to imagine with whom this ribbon of attachment can connect, what can happen to a person if this ribbon of attachment is broken or left as it is. If, for example, attachment gives positive results and a person is able to adequately assess his attachment to the computer and receives certain positive results in return, then you can leave everything as it is. And if a person clearly cannot independently determine the end result of such a pastime, then it is necessary to distract him and constantly instill in him that this attachment ribbon negatively affects the person himself. In addition, for feed-attachment it is necessary to carry out an ecological test, that is, to decide what might happen if Internet addiction is overcome. Will it get worse, and if so, what is the extent of this threat? And only when the intended end result suits the most Internet-addicted person can one begin to gradually break this tape. Once the addiction tape has been broken and destroyed, or at least weakened as much as possible, the person needs.
