What is “introited aggression”, how, why does it appear and how does it affect a person’s life? First, I want to separate the concepts of aggression and anger. Because they are often mixed. Anger is a basic emotion, the essence of which is the expression of dissatisfaction or indignation with some object and the desire to eliminate and solve the problem object. Aggression is a destructive attack that causes harm to the object of aggression. And as you can see, the main difference is that anger is not aimed at destruction, attack and harm in essence. With anger, you can find different ways to solve a problem situation, and it can be productive and creative. But with aggression, the essence is always the same: to destroy, destroy, eliminate the problematic situation. Introjection is the psychological process of including attitudes, motives, views, etc. into one’s inner world. The purpose of introjection is protection and adaptation. And introjected aggression is an unconsciously accepted set of intentions, views, attitudes, expressed in an aggressive and destructive intention regarding the object of aggression (this can be other people, groups, anything, like the person himself, i.e. so-called “auto-aggression”). That is, a person simply hates, is aggressive, his thoughts describe the object of aggression exclusively in a negative context. How and why does it appear? As a rule, introspective aggression has a protective function for the psyche. Conventionally, in a person’s life there appears a significant parental (adult, parental) figure on whom the person depends, or to whom he treats with respect and sympathy. And at some point this parental figure attacks a person (and remember that aggression is about destruction and harm). And if the psyche is not able to cope with the destructive intention addressed to itself, then identification with the aggressor occurs and the person introduces the aggressive intentions and views of the parental figure. And later in life, this is formed into an unconscious belief and a set of views, and IMPORTANTLY, introitized aggression is experienced completely as one’s own. Since it is formed against the background of a feeling of horror of one’s own destruction and shame for one’s inadequacy in the matter of confronting the parental figure - the aggressor, a strong contamination (connection) of the sacrificial and aggressive parts is formed. They merge together - at the core is the horror of destruction and on top of protective introspective aggression. How does it affect a person’s life? Since aggression is introiced, and does not belong to a person’s own internal decisions, and does not serve the purpose of adaptation to his own life. But only adaptation to a traumatic situation. Then it affects like any other aggression in a destructive, harmful way: a person gets angry inappropriately and attacks out of the blue, outbursts of aggression are inappropriate and cannot be explained. The so-called “inappropriate aggressive reaction.” And ultimately leads to maladjustment in one’s own life. Understanding the roots of all your aggressive reactions yourself is extremely difficult, and not always necessary. Moreover, there are hundreds or thousands of these stories and introjects in memory. There are those that strongly influence our lives, and there are those whose influence is weaker. The best way today to understand all the reactions and improve the quality of life is psychological consultations with a specialist. I hope this article was interesting and useful to you. Of course, it does not fully reveal and describe the entire process of introspective aggression. And especially how he treats her. But still. I welcome your comments, ideas and feedback. Have a nice day, everyone.
