Change is not always easy and joyful. We often strive to find step-by-step instructions that will simply and clearly explain how to achieve what we want. We want to learn the secrets of motivation on the path to a new life and new behavior. In search of this, we read various guides, books, listen to lectures, and ask authoritative people for advice. Sometimes we even find something useful, but it doesn’t always work. There are unobvious barriers to change. Our psyche consists of contradictions, different tendencies tend in different directions. Family or career, travel around the world or buy a house in the village, continuously develop or maintain stability. We always balance on our contradictions and make a choice in one direction or another, try to do everything, or hesitate on the spot and cannot decide. Doing something new involves risk and the unknown. After all, if we decide on something, on a new experience, if we change, our world also changes. What am I, that me-from-the-Future? What I like, what bold decisions I make, what I challenge, who surrounds me, what I have learned - all this is unknown. And the old life and our former self are stable and predictable. Sometimes we would rather choose bad stability or stable chaos over opportunity, risk and change because we don't know what it will bring. We all know how to fantasize, paint the future in rose-colored colors (and some in black), but at the same time we understand that the future is the unknown. Very often, before trying something new, we are overcome by doubts, they swarm here and there, prevent us from getting down to business, and do not allow us to move forward. New experiences change us, but we still need to decide on them. Fear holds us back. I am new, strong and brave - how will I look at myself weak, cowardly and indecisive? Will I be able to accept all this in myself? Yes, the result is great. Will I be excruciatingly painful and offended for wasting my time (sometimes years), and will I be able to forgive myself for this? Often on the path to a new self and a new life, it is not a question of motivation, the right steps, visualization and other things. The reasons may lie much deeper within us. It’s normal to be afraid of new things, it will always be like that. You can remain stable and not change anything, but there is another way - towards your fear. Towards a new you, leaving the thought “I won’t succeed” behind, because we can handle it. Everyone is familiar with the expression about a second chance, and that everyone deserves it. We give second and third chances to others, but think about how often you give yourself a chance?
