From the author: Art therapy helps a person reveal his potential, his hidden talents. A fractal pattern helps to simultaneously engage a person’s rational and intuitive field. One day I was invited to a free webinar, which was dedicated to the topic “Fractal drawing”. The training took place via the Internet and lasted about two hours. There was a small group of us, only 7 people. First they told us the history of the emergence of this trend, and then showed us what it looks like. It was developed in 1991. The author of the method is Tatyana Zakirovna Poluyakhtova. She is engaged in the diagnosis and correction of a person’s condition through color schemes and line plasticity. And since I do art therapy, I have always been interested in color diagnostics and human color correction. We had to prepare an A4 sheet of paper in advance and place it horizontally in front of us, pens with a black core and colored pencils, approximately 100 shades. Before starting to draw, we had to place a dot in the center of the sheet, and then close our eyes and draw a continuous line for a minute. This line had to be rounded, sharpened, swirled, and have different directions. Or rather, the result should have been fractals, that is, various geometric figures. When I opened my eyes, I saw a small number of tails or short lines that had no continuation. These lines needed to be completed, joined to another line, so that the overall figure would look complete. Since I know how to diagnose a person’s drawing, I immediately saw my self-esteem, where I look most of all - into the future or the past, and much more. It was a strange, unusual drawing. I had already seen similar drawings in one group in contact, but they were so professional and beautiful, but here, something incomprehensible, similar to a Tortilla turtle. Drawing No. 1. Then we chose pencil after pencil with our eyes closed, and put a point on another piece of paper. It is believed that the color scheme of the design reflects our aura. When the training was over, we were given the task to color all the fractals in the drawing and send it by mail for diagnostics. And I painted them for three hours until one in the morning. I was fascinated by this and really wanted to get the result and diagnosis as quickly as possible. I already have five fractal patterns. I like this type of art therapy. There are many books that have explanations on how to draw it correctly, what size fractals should be, what color, what they are responsible for, etc. Figure 2. Figure No. 3. What conclusions did I draw based on all this: 1. This is a very interesting activity;2. The mood improves after this; 3. With the help of such a drawing, you can see what state your psyche is in;4. The more you draw, the better and more beautiful your drawings become;5. Relieves attacks of depression, treats neuroses, proven; 6. The stressful state turns into a moderate form; Client’s drawing: panic attacks, feelings of anxiety and fear. Description: I felt relief, but before that I was depressed. I highly recommend you try this type of drawing! © Yulia Vadimovna Voronina, Psychologist, Bibliotherapist - St. Petersburg, 2021.
