ADDICTIVE BEHAVIOR (dependence!) Addictive behavior is characterized by a desire to escape from the reality of the world around us by changing one’s mental state by taking psychoactive substances or constantly fixating attention on certain objects or activities. Examples: · drunkenness and alcoholism · drug addiction · substance abuse · smoking · computer addiction · workaholism · sexual deviations · offenses Reasons: · persistent troubles in school · interpersonal conflicts with close (significant) people · panic mood due to threatening information · destruction of habitual life stereotypes · making responsible decisions · inattention in the process of personality formation to the education of emotional culture Personal psychological mechanisms can also serve as a reason: · pragmatic orientation of others to achieve success at any cost · clichés offered by society that require neglect of spirituality in order to achieve a high material standard of living · sacrifice · “depression” success,” accompanied by a psychological vacuum. One of the pressing problems today is the developing computer addiction of adolescents. At the same time, there are also positive aspects to a hobby (for example, computer games) - a change of activity, stress relief. When teenagers are overly addicted to virtual games, they become a “stumbling block” on the path to spiritual and physical development. Teenagers strive to use the possibilities of CT as much as possible, since their desire for a variety of contacts and expansion of the information space corresponds to the characteristics of their age. Computer addiction develops gradually. It begins with an unconscious “nothing to do” (this is probably why such addictions are not observed among athletes and busy people) and a clear desire to escape from problems and experience new sensations. For teenagers, not any computer games are dangerous, but only role-playing ones, because the player takes on the role of a virtual character and lives his life, feeling uncomfortable in reality. Symptoms of computer addiction: · indifference to family contacts, health, academic success, school and extracurricular activities · frequent checking of e-mail · excessively long stays at the computer · fast eating (sometimes in front of the monitor) · "falling out" from real time · fast emerging fatigue, irritability, mood swings; more frequent online communication than face-to-face communication; immersion in the Internet as a means of escaping problems, bad mood, feelings of loss, anxiety, depression; priority of being on the Internet over all other types of activities and communication; breaking promises in absence of adults do not go on the Internet · denial, often affective, of computer addiction Recommendations for the prevention of computer addiction: 1. Be careful and timely notice and prevent the development of computer addiction2. Constantly pay attention to the development of the teenager’s interests and inclinations. Promote and encourage his creative endeavors.3. Make sure that the teenager devotes adequate time to physical activity (especially group games). Physical exercises work off negative energy, relieve tension, and stabilize emotions.4. A personal example of using a computer as an assistant, a work tool.5. Cultivating a sense of family, collective community..
