Self-love manifests itself as in any other relationship - through action. How do you understand that you are loved, that you are needed and important? How do you express your love to people who are important and close to you? When we love, we look after, care for, take an interest in a person, how he feels, whether he is comfortable, give gifts, admire and empathize. Start to consistently take care of yourself as someone with whom you are in love. Many begin to say: “I don’t have the means, time, energy for this,” but really, wouldn’t you find, given what you have now, ways to take care of your loved one? Remember how you show love, attention and care for loved ones and do something of this for yourself every day, with the same good intentions, warm words, tenderness as for others. But don’t just do it mechanically, but pay attention to it, accompanying the caring gesture with thoughts: “this is delicious tea for me in the most beautiful and favorite cup,” “this half an hour in a pleasant, relaxing bubble bath is for me,” etc. Try three times per day, turn ordinary everyday actions into an act of care and attention to yourself, this will not take extra time, but psychologically it will be perceived completely differently, for example, don’t just make scrambled eggs for breakfast, but put a smiley face on it with a sausage smile or decorate it with your favorite herbs - show concern. Or don’t just apply the cream to your face and hands, but take a minute for pleasant massage movements. Warm, gentle self-care will have a cumulative effect, and a persistent feeling will begin to appear: “I am important, I am loved,” which will have a positive effect on the stabilization of self-esteem , growth of internal supports, confidence in the unconditional value of oneself by birthright. In conclusion, I want to tell you a very simple but effective exercise that I often recommend to my clients for self-acceptance and self-love: every day, when washing your face at the mirror or passing by it, stop for a minute , look at your reflection and say to yourself: “I’m glad to see you.” By doing this simple practice for several weeks, you will notice how your voice, facial expression, and feelings towards your reflection in the mirror will change.
