A frequent client request is that I want to learn how to relax! I’m constantly tense, I’ve forgotten what it’s like to be relaxed... And we start with the client defining what relaxation is for him - and basically the answer is a state when there are no fears, pressures, anxiety, fear... Relaxation is a form of mild ecstasy originating from the frontal lobe of the brain, in which the posterior cortex of the brain sends signals to the frontal cortex of the brain through a mild sedative. (Wikipedia) How we can help ourselves relax. The simplest and most accessible thing is music. Listen to calm, pleasant relaxing music. (sounds of nature, sound of the sea, birdsong, sound of rain and others) Take a bath with magnesium salt 1-2 times a week (15-20 min)! And combine this with relaxing music, candles and aroma oil (for example, lavender) Have detox days from gadgets! A very important assistant in relaxation is breathing. Breathe deeply, study your breathing. Watch how you breathe. Loud or quiet, deep or superficial. Take a deep breath, hold your breath, exhale deeply. The massage is relaxing! Give your body a rest. Stretching all muscles without rushing. Connect your breathing. Listen to your body, how it feels best. Meditation. Start with 2-3 minutes and gradually increase the time! It may be difficult at first, and different thoughts will come during meditation and this is normal! Meditate every day, let it become your habit! Do something you love, for example, creativity. Do something with your hands, thereby giving your brain a rest) Take a walk every day, just like that. Go where your body or soul wants. Not a walk from point B to point A, but just walk slowly, looking at what surrounds you. Listen to yourself! With the help of the above points, the client can help himself. And in sessions with my clients, working with such a request, I use tools such as art therapy, body-oriented therapy and trance techniques. How do you relax? What helps you to be relaxed?
