From the author: In search of Another God... What happens when a person is overtaken by depression. About its deepest causes on the scale of both the personal and collective unconscious. The path of the soul. From mythology we know numerous deities and heroes. Among the huge list of gods and goddesses, we can highlight the main ones, the same ones who were the sons of Kronos (Chronos). “Chronos” is time (hence, for example, “chronology”). According to myth, Chronos himself ascended the throne, having castrated his father Uranus, who predicted a similar fate for him at the hands of his son. For this reason, Chronos ate his children, but his wife Gaia saved one of them - Zeus, who subsequently, as predicted, overthrew his father, freeing the brothers - Hades and Poseidon. Three brothers (how can you not see the analogy between the myth and the Russian fairy tale , in which the king-father gives tasks to his three sons) divided among themselves the once sole power. Zeus began to rule the heavens, Poseidon - the seas, and the eldest Hades inherited the underworld - the kingdom of the dead. Hades is often mistakenly interpreted as Satan - anti-god, anti-Christ. But, let's look at the three brothers from the position of the structure of human mental space. Heaven - the government of Zeus - consciousness .Ocean (a very mobile element) – the government of Poseidon – emotions and instincts. The ocean has its own depths, and from the bottom of it our emotions, desires and feelings rise. But not all of our desires, emotions and feelings were accepted by us. It all started with the gods)! So Hades is that same rejected god - god - the ruler of the underworld - our unconscious. Hades is also called Pluto, which means “rich”. This is the clue (otherwise Hades - Hades) of Pluto, because he is portrayed as the gloomy god of the underworld, surrounded by shadows (souls of the dead). But Hades is wealth - something that a person refuses from childhood under the influence of upbringing, especially harsh and authoritarian. In a sense, Hades is a rejected child (that set of qualities that were not accepted in the child by the parent), but at the same time also a rejected father. Father who has once experienced rejection, as a rule, has difficulty accepting both himself (low self-esteem) and his children. A child who has experienced the pressure of a father in childhood (not necessarily a real one, but as a patriarchal unshakable figure) splits off the “father’s qualities” , which “die” in it. But they do not disappear. The kingdom of death is in the power of Hades and it is there that his treasures are stored - those gifts (abilities, giftedness, talents) that a person refuses, rejecting unaccepted traits in himself. Dead souls descending into Tartarus are not literally the souls of the dead. In different periods life, people go there into the waters of the Tartarus River. Tartarus is the deepest abyss into which Zeus once overthrew his father Kronos, and it is also the depths unconsciously. When a person falls into this abyss, he becomes acquainted with depression. This happens if a person lives a life that is not his own. This is a passive method, when the psyche, that is, through depression, encourages a person to action - to growth. This situation is well described in the myth of the abduction of Persephone. So Hades (a male introject split off into the unconscious) steals Cora - a naive, immature soul. Once in Hades, Cora becomes the goddess of the underworld - Persephone. Personification occurs when not only the “I” but also the “not-I” comes together - those same “bad selves” repressed into the unconscious. The very first repressed feeling of rejection is associated in the baby with a “bad mother” / “bad breast” .The bad I is repressed, but with it the very riches that Hades guards are separated. The second way, immersion in the unconscious - conscious, which is described by the journey of Psyche (soul) in search of the spouse Eros, when we also observe the growth of the soul, by completing the tasks of Aphrodite - that is, acquiring the qualities and properties necessary for the soul. Psyche descends to the kingdom of Hades for Persephone’s miraculous ointment, only in contrast to the idea of stealing the soul in this.
