Over the years of growing up, I became so accustomed to inflammation on my face that if my face became clear and the comedones did not become inflamed for a couple of days, I began to worry. As if something was wrong, something unusual. And now you need to behave somehow differently. Another example: one day a young man tore ligaments in his leg. He was successfully operated on and his leg returned to full functionality. But he was so accustomed to considering himself physically limited that when some kind of activity was required of him (for example, helping in the garden or repair work), he answered with dignity that he could not, because he was afraid to strain his leg. Another example: every time a person started working, his allergies to dust and paint worsened, although at rest he did not smell these odors. So why do we get sick from time to time, or “keep” our illness at bay all our lives? to yourself? Maybe we need it for something? Is she protecting us from something? And so often the “fight” against the disease turns out to be ineffective and after some time it returns again. Why? Perhaps once upon a time, “withdrawing” into this very illness turned out to be the safest way to protect the psyche, when only this very illness helped to get away from unbearable experiences, “forbidden” feelings (anger, resentment, shame, excitement), and now this mechanism is already works without our knowledge. Colds and flu can also serve as “lifesavers”. Perhaps as a child it was a way to attract the attention of their parents. And now, as an adult, this method continues to be used, even if it is no longer so effective. So, if you have some kind of illness that repeats from time to time, “monitor” your illness. How often does it appear? Under what conditions exactly? What precedes it? What feelings are you experiencing? When did she first appear? How could she be “useful” at that moment? And in this case, it is best to work through the problem with a psychologist. Together with a specialist, replace the usual mechanism of “going into illness” with a more harmless, “healthy” way of responding. PS I am only talking about possible psychological reasons. During the acute period of the disease, medical supervision and treatment is required.
