When communicating with colleagues, we discovered one trend in requests for consultation with a psychologist. A trend that appeared even before the self-isolation regime is to increase personal efficiency. Clients of different gender, age and marital status are interested in how to work better, accomplish more and not fall into apathy. At first glance, the complexity of the request may not be obvious. It would seem that you can sort out planning, goal setting, “stuff” yourself with motivational videos... and move on. But upon closer examination, unfortunately, the following are often discovered: lack of resources, chronic fatigue, inattention to one’s own needs, negative thoughts about oneself and life, loss of interest in achievements. Efficiency decreases simply because a lot of time is spent fighting with yourself, your thoughts and feelings. Courses, trainings, books in some cases help to change the situation a little, but the general mood remains depressed. And people continue to look for motivation to regain interest in work and everyday activities. But here it is important to understand that in such cases, with a high probability, we are dealing with something more than just a lack of motivation. And often, in order to get out of such a state, it is important: Continue to perform actions, regardless of the presence of motivation, desire and pleasure. Visit a psychotherapist. In addition to these two points, you must remember to listen to your body and feelings. It is important to understand in time that your strength is running out, and your body requires rest and recovery. To relax, you don’t have to go on vacation or visit a spa. You can do this in simple ways, for example: Walking in the fresh air with family, friends or alone; Herbal delicious tea; Taking a bath with rich foam and aromatic oils / taking a shower; Meditation, yoga: Communication with pets I propose to expand this list together.
