I personally prefer this form of online counseling as a private chat. It can be carried out in messengers: WhatsApp, Viber, Telegram. But in emergency cases, when you need immediate “unscheduled” support from a specialist, you can write or call him, voicing your request for communication at a time that suits you. You can communicate by phone; for some this is a more preferable option. But here communication tariffs can “intervene” and complicate matters. If you and the psychologist have different telecom operators, different tariffs, or you do not live in the same city, you may have to pay extra for a long conversation. Here I am not considering a form of communication such as consultations via Skype, since this is a kind of imitation of an ordinary traditional consultation. In any case, the online form of communication with a psychologist removes the barriers of distance, helps to maintain anonymity if necessary, and is simply somehow familiar to us from communicating in correspondence with family and friends.
