Balance boards are special play devices designed to develop coordination and balance. These devices are used by neuropsychologists to conduct various exercises and training aimed at developing coordination, balance, cognitive functions and spatial perception in children. The development of coordination is an important aspect of children's development, since coordination is a key element of motor control, allowing children to perform various movements and tasks. Good coordination is important for many daily tasks such as playing on the playground, swimming, cycling, jumping, walking up stairs, climbing trees and many others. Working on coordination helps develop neural connections in the brain. When a child performs exercises on a balance board, it activates different parts of the brain related to coordination and balance, such as the cerebellum, the back of the brain, the vestibular system, and others. Through repetition of exercises on the balance board, the child strengthens and expands neural connections in these areas of the brain, which leads to improved coordination and balance, as well as the development of cognitive functions such as concentration, memory, attention, spatial perception, spatial orientation. Research also show that balancing exercises can help develop brain plasticity in children, allowing them to better adapt to changing environments and learn more effectively. Therefore, developing coordination in children is an important factor in creating strong neural connections in the brain. Developing coordination helps children improve their motor skills and increase their physical activity, which helps develop their health, self-esteem and overall well-being. Overall, developing coordination is an important aspect of children's development. There are several types of balance boards:✅A swing board, a wooden board on a thick bolster.✅Curved board or (owl board): is a curved wide wooden or plastic panel.✅A simple board is a balance board. ✅Maze board - This board is a playing field with a labyrinth through which you need to move the ball.✅Balance board - This board is a platform with several balls that need to be kept in balance.✅Balance boards (balancers resembling a snowboard).More often by neuropsychologists In total, the Bilgou cerebellar stimulation balancing simulator is used. Balancing boards can be used both in classes with specialists and at home. When performing exercises, you need to move from simple to complex; at the beginning, the child should simply learn to maintain balance, then you can offer a simple exercise aimed at developing spatial perception. For example, standing on the board, describe the shapes that you see around you, find the given shapes and answer some questions. Then you can use additional objects, for example a ball, it can be transferred from one hand to another. Toss it, throw it to each other, etc. Then use heavier objects (sandbags), learn to balance with the load. The next step could be learning to perform simple physical exercises on a balance beam: lifting on your toes, various movements with your hands, squats. Further complications of physical exercises: # Bending and tilting the body forward, backward, right, left, # Bouncing, # Standing on one leg, # Passing labyrinths. These are just some examples of exercises on a balancing board. It is important to choose exercises that are appropriate for the child's age and developmental level to avoid injury and ensure effective results. A balance board can help children who have problems with coordination and balance. Working on a balance board improves muscle strength, develops balance, coordination and motor skills in children.
