This logic is most accurately reflected in the concept of “Spiral Dynamics” - a theory of human development introduced in 1996 in the book of the same name by Don Beck and Chris Cowan, which is based on the research of Professor Claire Graves. The key point in the concept of spiral dynamics is that people have the internal ability to exist at different psychological levels, which reflect different views of what the world is like and the complexity of its structure. Human nature is manifested in transitions from one balanced state to another, and the transition itself occurs at the moment of resolution of a crisis situation, in turn, the resolution of which determines the effectiveness and efficiency of the transition. Therefore, the crisis is the main driving force in the development of a person, organization, and society. Coaching is the most flexible and effective tool for both successfully resolving crisis situations and accompanying changes. In a crisis situation, coaching allows you to: find a new goal in life that fully corresponds to your internal desires and abilities, transform an existing problem into a specific task and identify optimal ways to solve it, come to a certain life balance, harmoniously combining career and hobbies, business and personal life, find solving many “tactical” problems, being able to understand the situation of difficult choices. Thus, using the concept of spiral dynamics together with a coaching approach in resolving crisis situations provides a person with a unique opportunity not only to resolve the current crisis, but also to make a transition to the next level of development, to give a person confidence that he has found his Path.
