For me, the “simplest” client is the one who is internally ready for changes. One who already acutely feels what is bothering him and has already found the desire to work with it. The work itself on internal (and external) changes is not easy - different things happen there. And tears, and resistance, and anger, and indignation, and despair... Someone runs this path, someone walks slowly and thoughtfully, looking around, checking whether they are going there. But, most importantly, he is ready to go, ready to take risks. It may be scary, but he is heading towards the unknown. Changes are always unknown, we have never been there before. But we don’t always go to a psychologist so “prepared.” Often making an appointment and showing up is all you can do. All. There’s simply nothing else they can do. Empty. These are the clients that are the most “difficult” for me personally. This is not the time, place or resource for change. At such moments, I seemed to feel my own “uselessness”. But life proves to me the opposite. When there is no strength, when there is emptiness inside, when you cannot see what may be ahead, when it is not clear whether you are ready to invest strength in your own changes - it is often enough to find yourself in a place where you are simply listened to, simply accepted, just nearby. For me, as a psychologist, this is the most obvious and difficult at the same time. What could be simpler - to accept a person, to listen, to be there? And what could be more difficult - just wait, just be, don’t rush, don’t push forward? Magic is born from such seemingly simple actions. Out of nowhere comes strength, courage and faith. And, as a rule, having gained all this, a person becomes able to move mountains. The most interesting thing is that he himself does not notice WHAT he is doing. Only when he looks back does he realize what peaks he has reached, how much he has done. And, most importantly, how easy it turns out to be now. May God give me the strength to just be there!
