It's time for love, sun, blossoms... and also anxiety, melancholy and longing. Why does this happen? The body reacts ambiguously to any change of seasons. With autumn, everything seems to be clear: there is less warmth and light every day, then wind, then rain... well, how can you not feel sad and get another runny nose. But why do unpleasant surprises await us in the spring, when, it would seem, there is nothing but joy? However, a clear answer to this question has not yet been found. Probably, the basis of this disorder is changes in sunlight, which directly affects our well-being: mood, sleep, appetite and hormone levels change. It turns out that a lack or, conversely, an excess of sun can cause psychological problems. But only if these changes in illumination are sharp, and the body does not have time to prepare for them. Or it may be that all spring problems are the result of character traits, or even a completely far-fetched problem. Perhaps it’s all about the perception of the world: optimists “see the light” in any weather, but a pessimist is not happy with the sun. There is a noticeable trend: women are more susceptible to spring depression, because they are more emotional than men, which means their psyche is more vulnerable. It’s not what happens to us that matters, but how we feel about it.
