Continuing the theme of my article yesterday, I can assume that the therapist has taken on the role of a kind of psychological kamikaze. What I mean. Perhaps there was an idea that the client needed to be constantly frustrated so that he would develop his healthy anger, his ability to defend his “I”, and so on and so forth. That is, perhaps the therapist decided only to frustrate, for the most part frustrate, the client. But then, of course, an imbalance occurred, the support, which, as I assume, was there, but it turned out to be not enough, the frustration outweighed. And the psychologist, as I also assume, did not take any measures to prevent even a very offended or angry client from leaving therapy. By what means could this be achieved? Well, at least talk at the beginning, tell the client that he (the psychologist) knows what he is doing, and that under no circumstances, no matter how difficult it is, it is important to stay in therapy. I think it’s important to choose the words carefully here. Since the client may suspect something and the psychologist’s frustrations will not be so effective for him. Of course, this raises the question of how effective they should be. Perhaps what turns out to be in connection with them after the initial explanation of the therapist that I just gave will be enough. The question is open. If you have suggestions on how best to explain to the client so that he does not leave therapy in this case, when quite severe frustration is expected, then I will be glad to read your suggestions in the comments.
