What is a nervous breakdown? What are its symptoms and are there any consequences? Let's figure it out. A nervous breakdown, in the simplest words, is a nervous breakdown, a release of neuropsychic energy. In general, a nervous breakdown occurs as a way to protect the psyche from destruction. The causes of a nervous breakdown have long been known to everyone: long-accumulated emotional tension, constant stress, traumatic experiences that do not stop for one reason or another, long-term depression and much more that you no longer know about. Have you ever heard? Who is susceptible to a nervous breakdown? Firstly, these are suspicious, anxious, emotional people, by type of temperament they are often choleric. Let's say, if it seems to you that the person in front of you is clearly unbalanced, most likely he is the one who is predisposed to a nervous breakdown. Before a nervous breakdown nevertheless decides to fall on a person and protect his psyche from total collapse, he will “report” about yourself with some symptoms. Like any disease. So, what are the symptoms: fears that are unfounded. anxiety out of nowhere or hypertrophied anxiety. tearfulness, sensitivity to everything, everything around can cause laughter, tears, fear, resentment, mental pain, anxiety. disturbance sleep - either it is constant awakenings and the inability to fall asleep, or, on the contrary, constant drowsiness. hypertrophied and constant fatigue, often, it seems, out of nowhere - I went to buy bread and was tired, thought and was tired. irritability, even more - anger, rage, intolerance that can no longer be controlled. obsessive thoughts about everything in the world, even about things that do not concern a person. along with sleep disturbances, breathing is disturbed, either hyperventilation of the lungs or depression of the respiratory center follows, heart function is disrupted. eating disorders. Of course, this is not a complete list, but it is sufficient to diagnose the beginnings of a nervous breakdown. And now to the consequences. What will happen if all these symptoms befall a person and a nervous breakdown occurs? - complete deterioration in the functioning of the body at the physical and mental levels, resulting in hospitalization; - social life suffers - one of the first; - connections are disrupted, isolation most often occurs. - suicide, violence - psychiatric diseases, alcoholism, drug addiction as a consequence. What to do In general, in this case, sedatives, antidepressants and tranquilizers are an excellent playlist for your psyche. But, if you approach the problem not from the side of neurology and psychiatry, but from the side of psychology, then Gestalt therapy will be of great help here, as well as all types of therapy related to behavior, body and cognitive functions in general. * Subscribe to my YouTube channel: PRACTICAL PSYCHOLOGY * More articles on my Instagram *: INSTGR_LINK * Add as a friend on VKontakte: Yulia Yakovkina * Link to my current COURSE ON DEPENDENCE * Link to my useful CHECKLIST ON ANXIETY *** I thank everyone for comments, subscriptions and maintaining an atmosphere of creativity on my author’s page on b17.* Instagram belongs to Meta, which is recognized as an extremist organization in Russia.
