Several years ago, life taught me a “good lesson” - a serious illness with serious further consequences. For two weeks I lay in one of the clinics in a double ward with a seriously ill man with cancer. Over the past year, he has undergone three major operations, to pass the time, we talked a lot. I was struck by the fact that a person, being between life and death, learned (really learned) to be content with little and find many positive emotions in it. Despite the fact that, in fact, he will not be able to live like all healthy people, he set a goal for himself - to cope with his illness and developed a certain form of behavior after recovery, being disabled. I was struck by the fact that he learned to see beauty, it seems, in simple things. How he talked about how he would recover and go to grow flowers at the dacha, how he would take care of them. These words contained so much positive energy and a “great” goal for him that he gave me faith in recovery and the conviction that our thoughts influence our health. At the time of my discharge, he had undergone another 12-hour operation, spent five days in intensive care, and his condition had changed in a positive direction. Saying goodbye to him, I thought: “How come we don’t appreciate and notice so many things in everyday life. How often do we set inadequate goals for ourselves and are ready to sacrifice our health, love and friendship, and these are things that we can lose forever.” This thought gave me a chance to recover! Unfortunately, not everyone understands this and manages to acquire a bunch of diseases and at the same time blame relatives, doctors, parents, friends, circumstances, fate, everyone, but not themselves, for the current situation. A familiar story, isn't it? There is a theory that our health and general well-being directly depend on our actions and thoughts. Although this is difficult to prove scientifically due to the lack of suitable research methods, if you observe your negative thoughts and the occurrence of illness and unpleasant situations, you can see a direct relationship between them. At first glance, this theory destroys the usual way of thinking, since most people are accustomed to blaming anyone but themselves for their problems. This way of thinking not only does not help, but also leads to disappointment, depression and many diseases. For many people, in order to do nothing themselves, it is convenient to shift the blame onto others. The powers of our thoughts increase emotions; the more positive the emotions are, the more positive the person will achieve. Also, our success and our thoughts are influenced by desire, which is a strong emotional component of our motivation. Without desire, we would not be able to solve a single problem. It often happens in life that a person solves some problem, but cannot do it due to the lack of a strong desire. Often this happens at the unconscious level, and the person does not even understand it. For example, some patients do not have a subconscious desire to get well, since the illness gives him benefit in the attention of others and sick leave. One more example can be given: some people, looking for a job, cannot find it for a long time, and this happens not because it is impossible to find it, but because at the unconscious level they do not want to change their fairly comfortable lifestyle. It is very important to understand that thoughts are programs for a person’s life and determine his future destiny. Until a person understands the falsity of his inner desires and motives and changes his thoughts, he will not get rid of diseases and will not achieve significant success in life.
