Today in my article I want to tell you about the concept of digital dependence. Every day I ask myself: Am I becoming too dependent on the digital world? How much time do I spend staring at my smartphone or computer screen, oblivious to my surroundings? Is digital technology a necessity or is it an addiction? Digital addiction is a real, serious problem that affects many of us. We can console ourselves with the fact that this is a part of modern life that we cannot do without. But think about it: How much of your free time do you spend hunched over your phone, scrolling through social media? There is no point in lying to ourselves - it is we ourselves who succumb to digital captivity, allowing technology to own us, and not vice versa. Let's define and designate what type of addiction this is and why it becomes a problem in our lives. Digital addiction is a condition when we lose control over the use of digital technologies such as smartphones, tablets, computers and the Internet, and plunge into them headlong, forgetting about real life. Digital addiction comes in different forms. This could be endless scrolling on social networks, the inability to tear yourself away from the screen for something more worthwhile. We begin to feel anxious if our phones are left without Internet or are running low, we feel lost without constant access to Internet communications. But the worst thing about digital addiction is complete immersion in the world of information. We no longer decide when and for how long to use technology, it begins to control our thoughts and actions. Why is digital addiction harmful? Let's talk about why digital addiction is so dangerous and what consequences it can have on our mental and physical health, as well as for our relationships with others. Constantly being in the digital world can cause feelings of stress and anxiety due to the constant flow of information, oversaturation of impressions and the constant feeling of lack of time. Digital addiction is often associated with a lack of real communication, which can contribute to the development of depression and social isolation. Loss of interest in real life and deep immersion in virtual worlds can lead to alienation from others, disruption of relationships with family, friends and colleagues. Constantly communicating through screens reduces real-life communication skills, which can lead to problems in forming and maintaining relationships. Lack of activity and long sessions sitting at the computer can lead to poor physical fitness, obesity and other health problems. Constant use of gadgets before bed can disrupt the sleep cycle, cause insomnia and impair the quality of sleep. These and many other problems make us understand that the excessive use of modern gadgets affects our health and well-being. Well, if you feel that your relationship with the virtual the world begins to acquire signs of addiction - you can turn to me for help.
